Spotted at 80s Purple:
Dana Weiser is an artist whose themes explore race and identity. It stems from her adoption and childhood, growing up as a Korean female in a Jewish family. And Throw ‘Em Up is her latest project. The series is a collection made entirely of plaster, paint, and steel of Los Angeles’ gang signs and LA gang-like gestures: Crips, Bloods, LA, Westside, and the middle finger. Sums it up. Doubt the Bloods and Crips are strolling around a gallery right now looking at these. But interesting nonetheless. I want to hang the LA one on my front door.
