On Jan. 30th The Secret Society presents “Grey Dayâ€, the return of the Pure Open Mic. “Grey Day†will serve as a sign of unity and the bringing together of elements that have for so long been seen as opposite ends of the spectrum but draw from and are attracted to the same energy. So in addition to the open mic portion where up and coming artists can develop and refine their skills, there will be a showcase with Uptown XO performing with the GO-GO band X.I.B. and other special guests that will be in attendance. The same energy that has been prevalent in the GO-GO scene is now being seen in the DC Hip-Hop scene and the new Pure Open Mic is where these powerful forces will come together. Please come join us as we celebrate the rich history of Hip-Hop on U St. and usher in a new era of hip-hop in Washington DC.
