This May, Birmingham City FC will be hosting a memorial football match in honour of fallen teenager Joshua Ribera (also known as Depzman from the Invasion Alert collective) with a memorial football match at St Andrew’s.
Spotted on Birmingham Mail:
The 18-year-old rising star, from Northfield – known as Depzman – was stabbed in a jealous rage outside TC’s nightclub in Selly Oak in September last year.
Following a four-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court, 18-year-old Armani Mitchell was convicted of his murder and sentenced to at least 18 years in prison last month.
A Birmingham City FC spokesman confirmed the match will be held on May 21, but tickets and other arrangements are yet to be set.
He said: “We are delighted to host the Joshua Ribera memorial match. We hope it will be a successful and busy day to honour Joshua and the entire Birmingham community.
“We want to bring the community together and promote a good cause.”
In addition to the match you’re about to read on, there will also be a somewhat-formal ball no the same day. While tickets aren’t on sale yet, one place to keep an eye on would be here.
