A few weeks ago, I stopped by Bureau’s Preview Party. The new DC Skate shop lives in the second-floor U Street location formerly occupied by Art Under Pressure (now closed.) Bureau was founded by a group of local skaters and artists (including Might Healthy’s Jeremy Murray.) The compact space has been stripped down to a simpler setup with wooden shelves and wall displays. Filled with decks, shoes, clothes, backpacks and other hard goods, Bureau is the ideal spot for someone looking for some cool streetwear or a new setup. Popular brands like Palace, Huf, Dickies and Krooked share space with local favorites like Carpet Company. In the first month since they opened, they’ve dropped an exclusive crew video with Transworld Skateboarding and done a scavenger hunt with eS and Kelly Hart. Definitely keep an eye out for whatever is next from Bureau (@DCBureau on Instagram.) You can check them out on 1342 U Street NW, DC. I’ve included some photos of the shop below. – JL
