I gotta be honest: this year’s GRAMMYs seems to continue the tradition of not really knowing to the f*** is really making the best music, especially in regards to the D.C. area: GoldLink, Wale and Ari Lennox should have been given GRAMMY nominations this year, among others (Ari does technically fall into the Dreamville category, and that label’s latest compilation did in fact earn a nomination).

With that said, big congrats has to go out to YBN Cordae, who was able to lock in two for Best Rap Album (The Lost Boy) and Song (“Bad Idea” with Chance The Rapper). Hopefully, he can take one home…you can check out all of the nominations here.

The 62nd GRAMMY Awards airs Jan. 26 on CBS.
