Red Hot Chili Peppers Will Join Bruno Mars For Super Bowl Halftime Show
From the L.A. Times:
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to join headline act Bruno Mars during the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show on Feb. 2 in New Jersey.
Mars is scheduled to make the announcement that he has invited the group to appear at the big game during Fox’s coverage of the New Orleans Saints-Seattle Seahawks playoff contest on Saturday, a person with knowledge of the matter said.
Currently on tour, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were already lined up to play a pre-Super Bowl bash in Brooklyn on Feb. 1, hosted by sports radio station WFAN-AM in New York.
An NFL spokesman referred a request for comment to Mars’ spokeswoman, who declined to say whether the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be appearing with the singer.
The addition of the group will likely broaden the appeal of the halftime show beyond Mars’ fan base and appeal to older viewers. (Not that anyone who listens to the Red Hot Chili Peppers thinks of themselves as old.)
Because this year’s game is in a cold-weather area, hopefully the band will wear more than socks when they perform.

Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” Sounds Identical to “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars

Producer/Soundcloud user Bitman explains why Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” are virtually the same from a musical standpoint (and mashes the two songs to prove it). Its not that amazing that two pop songs are very similar, but still worth noting.
The songs are both in D minor. Miley Cyrus song “Wrecking Ball” mixed with “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars. Same chorus, different applications of triplets in melody in form, otherwise almost identical. No same producers, no crossover between personnel at all (as far as digging on Wikipedia has shown). New Miley album drops Oct 4th with this as one of the main tracks. Bruno Mars’s song came out last October. I see a pattern.
Pop music isn’t really much more than nursery rhymes with adult undertones and studio production. Wisen up, people.
Bruno Mars Will Reportedly Headline The Super Bowl
From The L.A. Times:
The crooner is expected to be tapped to perform at the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVIII next February, according to two people with knowledge of the matter. An announcement could come as early as this Sunday.
Neither the NFL, which produces the Pepsi-sponsored halftime show, or Fox, which is carrying the Super Bowl this season, would comment. An NFL spokesman would only jokingly say that Janet Jackson and Miley Cyrus have been ruled out as performers.
This year’s game is being played in the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
