Thanks to DJ Absolut, Cassidy and Swizz Beatz reunite for the dope new track ‘Speak 2 The Hood’.
CHECK OUT: Cassidy Vs. Dizaster Press Conference
December 6th is the date. It looks like it’s going to be good.
Cassidy Says JAY Z Instigated Battle With Freeway
If you’ve never seen the battle, 1. enjoy, and 2. here’s a synopsis: Cassidy pretty much wiped the floor with Freeway after the loser couldn’t keep up acapella. Anyways, Cassidy says that it’s all JAY Z’s fault the slaughter went down.
Well, it was just me, him, and Swizz in the studio. The Mary J. Blige session. Swizz did the beat. Hov was rapping on it. They wanted to update the song. So, it was me, Swizz, and Jay Z in the studio. After they just got off Hot97 cyphering and all that. So, Swizz introduced me as like the hottest nigga in the street. Hov like ‘What? You ain’t just hear my niggas on the radio? I got the hottest niggas. What is you talking about?’ Then he looking at me. ‘Nigga, you don’t even look big enough for Beans. You don’t look old enough for Free. What you want me to put you up against Chris, my 16-year-old?’ And he started talking crazy. And at the time, this before I was polished in the industry. I was right from the street. So, I was a little more hot-headed. I was getting a little aggravated. Swizz seen it. So, I’m like ‘Nigga, I don’t give a fuck who you call. You can call all them niggas. I’ll crush any of them niggas. I don’t give a fuck who you call.’
Look out for Cassidy to make his return to the ring against current battle emcee Dizazter (to the tune of $250,000).
Cassidy – We Dem Buls
Cassidy jumps on Wiz Khalifa’s polarizing single. I often forget that Wiz is from Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh).
Cassidy – Ain’t No Beat Safe
Cassidy — possibly the only other emcee other than los going at beats ‘search-and-destroy’ style — goes in over Nicki Minaj and Lil Herb’s ‘Chi-Raq’.
Cassidy – Worst Behavior/We Made It (Freestyle)
Cassidy – Surfboard (Drunk In Love G-Mix)
Cassidy has decided to tackle Beyoncé’s latest single ‘Drunk In Love’ for his latest remix. Surfboard, indeed.
Cassidy Recruits 15 Emcees From Philly For New Track
Cassidy drops a new track, titled ‘City Of Brotherly Slugs’, featuring Young Chris, E.Ness, Charli Baltimore, Gillie Da Kid, Chic Raw, C.Grand, Rican Bull, Reed Dollaz, Black Deniro, Dark Lo, Spade-O, Scholito, Cyssero, Biggs and K.Dot. Definitely a posse cut for the ages….all that’s missing is a Meek Mill verse…
Meek Mill Threatens Cassidy?
On Cassidy‘s new diss record to Meek Mill, he mentioned the recently slain rapper Lil Snupe, saying, “You remind me of Sisqó from Dru Hill/fuck how you feel, you got Lil Snupe killed”. Meek Mill took to Twitter and threatened Cassidy for mentioning his slain artist. I feel Cassidy was out of line for that.
Cassidy – Catch A Body (Meek Mill Diss)
I’m not surprised about this. Earlier this week, Meek released a Cassidy diss record ‘Kendrick You Next’ over various instrumentals. Naturally, Cassidy didn’t waste any time and headed into the studio for his response.
I don’t really understand why Meek gave him another 15 mins of fame.
JR Writer Feat. Cassidy – Fuck You
Word on the street is, there will be plenty more where this collaboration came from. Time will tell, I suppose.
Cassidy “Control (Freestyle)” (Response To Kendrick Lamar)
Cassidy joins the conversation and drops off his response to Kendrick’s ‘Control’ verse. While he is splitting some bars, I don’t think anybody really cares.
Cassidy Feat. Jomo K. Johnson – Sunday School
More music from the holy matrimony that is Cassidy & Jomo K. Johnson, from the EP and runs parallel to the above book (both of which you can get here).
Cassidy & Jomo K. Johnson – Amazing Grace
Dude goes from ‘Condom Style‘ to ‘Amazing Grace’ and gets the dude who tried to leech his 15 minutes of fame off of Meek Mill. Alright.
New song from the book soundtrack, “Behind the B.A.R.S. The Autobiography of Cassidy.”
