Drake Calls Out Kendrick Lamar At CRWN With YN
Sohh Reports:
According to reports, Drizzy took part in an open discussion with hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson for his CRWN series in New York last night (September 22).
Last night, Drizzy Drake graced Elliot Wilson’s CRWN stage for the first time. Taking place at the NYU Shimmel center, October’s very own talked to the packed audience for over 2 hours. He gave away tons of intimate details about the recording of Nothing Was The Same and bits of his personal life. Myspace is set to release the video clips starting on Wednesday, but one particular moment made it’s way online already. When YN asked how he really felt about Kendrick’s “Control” verse, Drake didn’t seemed too moved by K. Dot’s lyrics. However, he admitted that they saw each other in person after at the VMAs and it was all love, but in Drake’s eyes it doesn’t seem like the verse has his complete cosign. (Miss Info TV)
Drake spent a few moments on the buzz Kendrick ignited and why his main objective did not make sense to him.
“That [‘Control’] verse was a moment to talk about. Are you listening to it now, though?,” he asked, hushing all 850 attendees at NYU’s Skirball Center, including Wilson. Drake continued: “He didn’t come in there on some wild, ‘I’m in New York, fuck everybody.’ I almost wish he had come in there on that shit because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse,” Drake said. “If it’s really ‘fuck everybody’ then it needs to be ‘fuck everybody’. It can’t just be halfway.” (Miss Info TV)

Damn. From TMZ:
Drake and The Game are teaming up to help cover funeral costs for 6 people — including 5 young siblings — who died in a tragic house fire in Ohio … even though the rappers didn’t know the victims.
The Game got the ball rolling after learning about Anna Angel — who was working her shift at Burger King when a fire consumed her home while her 5 young children and her boyfriend were trapped inside. There were no survivors.
Game Instagram’d about the tragedy … saying, “I can deal with a lot of things but people losing their children is something that kills me every time.”

Drake later posted about the situation … saying, “What [The Game] is doing will never be forgotten. Honored to be able to help people along side my brother.”
In addition to their $20K … the producers of Game’sTV show, “Marrying the Game” also pitched in $2,500.

There Is Reportedly A Remix To ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ Featuring The Wu-Tang Clan
HOW CAN WU FANS BE MAD A DRAKE LET ALONE WUTANG FOR PAYING HOMAGE ?
— Wu Tang Clan (@WuTangClan) September 13, 2013
Even after Deck’s complaint? Did he not make the song (or are we getting trolled until the remix drops)? From VIBE:
The Clan has recorded verses to 40’s instrumental in Europe earlier this summer, original Wu member U-God tells VIBE exclusively.
“They wanted us to remix it and get on there [so] you gon’ probably hear another one with us on it,” says U-God, shortly after landing in San Francisco to perform at Rock The Bells on Sunday. “Meth did his verse—we all did our verses. I wrote my rhyme in probably 15, 20 minutes. We were moving so fast we only had about four hours of studio time. If I had some time to really sit down and get juicy with it, I probably could’ve got juicier with it. But I still do a nice one, I still do a real banger.”
The Nothing Was The Same cut, which samples “It’s Yourz” from the Staten Island crew’s sophomore album Wu-Tang Forever, makes references to Raekwon’s “machine gun rap” opening lines from the original. Rae, as well as the official Wu-Tang Clan Twitter account have already expressed support for the track.
Wu-Tang Clan Member Won’t Support Drake’s New Record
SOHH reports:
According to Deck, Drizzy does not pay homage or make the record a real tribute to the Wu.
“After listening to the @Drake song, I agree with u… It is in no form a tribute to WU and SHOULD NOT wear the title Wutang Forever!,” Deck tweeted September 13.
“I am not switching up.. My tweet earlier stated without previously hearing the song I thought it was a tribute and saw that as respect.”
“My 2nd tweet based on hearing the song.. Not stating if its wack or not I said what I felt about the song and title in conjunction with WU” (Inspectah Deck’s Twitter)
Coincidentally, he initially stood behind the record after it started to receive backlash.
“GM fam! Woke up to a lot of @Drake disses… WTH? The homey did a song about us right? Is that not love/respect? Or did I miss sum’n?” (Inspectah Deck’s Twitter)
Before posting a blog post showcasing diehard Wu fans sporting their Clan tattoos, a tweet from the group’s Twitter page defended Drizzy’s new record.
“HOW CAN WU FANS BE MAD A DRAKE LET ALONE WUTANG FOR PAYING HOMAGE ?,” a tweet posted September 13.
“The Wu is forever so is this. http://fb.me/6u87HsaBT” (Wu-Tang Clan’s Twitter)

Drake Being Sued Over OVO Logo
TMZ Reports:
Drake’s expensive jewelry collection is coming back to bite him in the ass — a famous jeweler is suing him over a $50,000 owl pendant … claiming Drake illegally made knockoffs of it for his friends.
The jeweler Baden Baden Inc. (owned by designer Michael Raphael) filed the lawsuit, claiming Drizzy hired the company to make a custom diamond-studded platinum owl pendant back in January … and paid $49,204.
Then in June … BB claims gold duplicates of the pendant started surfacing on Drake’s Instagram.
According to the lawsuit, BB claims Drake took its original design, copied it, and handed out the knockoffs to his pals.
Baden Baden is suing for copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages, and asking the court to force Drake to hand over the owl copies.
One potential sticking point — Drake’s been using the owl logo for years … it’s the freakin’ cover of his 2011 mixtape.
