Joey Bada$$ releases a new video featuring the Pro Era homie Chuck Strangers. This is a Cinematic TV joint with a very throwback feel. I can dig it.
Smoke DZA (@Smokedza) – K.O.N.Y. Mixtape

Smoke DZA drops his latest mixtape, featuring Fat Trel, Wiz Khalifa, Big Krit, King Chip, Vado and more. I’m not sure how I feel about the ‘tape being named after a warlord who recruited child soldiers, but DZA must have some reason. Tracklist, stream and download below.
EDIT: It appears the track with Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa has been removed.

Joey Bada$$ (@joeyBADASS_) – rejex (Mixtape)
Joey Bada$$ drops off his new mixtape Rejex which are a few records that didnt make his debut mixtape, 1999. Check out what Joey Bada$$ has to say about his new mixtape below.
1999 rejex” is a compilation of tracks that didn’t make it to my debut mixtape “1999” (obviously). I decided to put this project together because I have a lot of unreleased material that I didn’t want to keep from the ears of my fans and supporters. I also have a couple of tracks on here I did when I was 15 years old (“little rachel”, “indubitable”, and “silent knight”) and I want to show people the progress I’ve made in a couple of years. The remaining songs (“flowers pt. I”, “catharsis”, “panty raid”, “fantum” and “update”) are tracks I dropped prior to the release of ’99 as promo only. I look at “rejex” as my more experimental side compared to ’99. Putting together these two projects even taught me a lil sumchin about my evolution as an artist and individual. Watch me go from “Joey B4 DA $$” to the “Joey BA DA $$”…… If you know what eye mean.. Haha

Joey BADA$$ (@joeyBADASS_) – 1999 Mixtape/Review

The debut mixtape of 17-year-old Brooklyn rapper Joey BADA$$ dropped yesterday and it already has nearly 50,000 views on Live Mixtapes and 30,000 on Datpiff. I know what you’re thinking though. This mixtape is from a New York rapper, he raps over old Lord Finesse, MF Doom and J Dilla beats, it even has a redone version of Dilla’s “Front Street†(redone by Statik Selectah.) It’s just gonna be another boring ‘90s throwback tape. Unfortunately, that assumption is kind of right. The recycled and redone beats used on this tape have been done to death. Also, some of the hooks sound like they came right from ‘90s raps themselves. But, for the rest of tape, the production is good (and noticeably throwback.) Joey BADA$$ raps well for a high-schooler and his crew raps well too. But he is clearly too caught up in an era he was barely alive for. I hope he branches out, making more tracks like “Killuminatiâ€, “Hardknockâ€, “Daily Routine†and “Righteous Minds.â€Â Check out the tape below.
