Chicago rapper King Louie was shot in the head Wednesday afternoon in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, his management team confirmed.
The rapper — whose real name is Louis Johnson Jr. — was shot while in a vehicle in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street about 3:30 p.m., according to his management and Chicago Police.
Police said he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized.
A representative from his management team said he was “awake and talking.”

I hadn’t heard anything from Chicago rapper Hollywood Holt in years. Then it was announced that he had dropped the “Hollywood” and had been signed by Kanye West to GOOD Music. The new GOOD member just dropped his remix to Kavinksy’s “Nightcall.” The super-talented Million $ Mano added more to the beat and potential OVO signee King Louie jumped on the track.
King Louie dropped a two-for-one yesterday, which should hold fans over until the release of Drilluminati 3: God of Drill.
In addition to the track with his Chicago compadres, Lil Mouse also let go of his new mixtape — Mouse Trap 2 — which is also available for stream/download below.
