Mindless Behavior Introduces New Member

Apparently, the group lost member Prodigy for some reason, so they have taken to the internet to announce their newest addition in the form of Detroit’s EJ. You can check out pictures, as well as the groups official message, in the gallery above; below, EJ speaks on joining the group:

“I am living my dream and being a part of this project has been amazing and a true blessing! …I plan to do big things with these guys! I am so grateful for the opportunity.”

Prodigy of Mobb Deep gave XXL the scoop on what they can expect on the bonus disk of the group’s upcoming album The Infamous:

“We got production from Havoc, of course, and Alchemist, we got production from Illmind, Boi 1da, we got some thug shit on there…It comes with a bonus ten songs that we made in 1994 when we were creating the Infamous album that never made the album. We recently just found those old songs, and there’s verses on there from Ghostface, Raekwon, from me, N.O.R.E., the whole team, that was never heard before, that was never released. Certain skits.”

“I would just say, our signature sound is a dark, sinister-type of sound,” said Prodigy. “There’s certain things we’re going through in our lives right now, [and] the lyrics are just up to date. Everything that we’re saying is going on right now. Each album is like that, it’s a time capsule of that time period. So now in 2014, you’re gonna hear what we’re going through in our lyrics, what’s going through our head as grown men.”

Spotted on Kontrol Mag:

Heart breaking news for loyal Mindless Behavior fans everywhere. Kontrol Magazine has been exclusively told that group member Prodigy is no longer with the group. Yes. You read it right. Lead singer Prodigy has left the building.

The group (who have been together since 2008) have enjoyed huge successes with hit singles such as(“My Girl” and “Mrs. Right). They have been a little quiet of late, but I certainly didn’t see this one coming.

Now we cannot give too much away, but the streets also tells us that “Like Em All” crooner Jacob Latimore will be Prodigy’s replacement. Latimore did go on tour with Mindless Behavior and Diggy Simmons for the 2011 Scream Tour “The Next Generation”, so could this shift have been a long time in the works? Hmmm… They seem to have made alternative arrangements pretty swiftly.  Perhaps Prodigy as the lead singer feels that it’s time to go solo? Wouldn’t be the first time would it? (Word to Justin Timberlake).
