Wale just dropped two INCREDIBLY short heaters for fans to enjoy. The above clip is an offshoot from his Cherry Blossoms Foamposite campaign and features plenty of D.C.’s finest artists and creators. Below, Folarin tapped T-Minus for an equally dope drop.
Not that he hasn’t been doing this over the past decade-plus, but Wale continues to showcase his versatility over Master Peace’s punk-pop offering, which is taken from his upcoming How To Make a(nuva) Master Peace EP.
From TMZ, where you can read the full story (the source of the issue is above, courtesy of Ant Glizzy):
Wale finds himself inserted in a rumor about Diddy dangling him over a balcony for working with Cassie against Diddy’s wishes — but Wale says it’s a fairy tale derived from Robert Townsend’s film, “The Five Heartbeats!!!
Wale’s management tells TMZ Hip Hop the story, first started by DMV rapper-turned-YouTuber Ant Glizzy, is pure fakery and goes on to say, “It’s a shame that a complete fabrication has gotten this far and that we have to dignify it with a response.”
They continue … “It is a fantasy written by an outsider to exploit a viral story for clicks … the author must have watched “The Five Heartbeats” on basic cable and got inspired. They have never been in the same room as the people mentioned. Wale has never met Cassie or the author and was never involved in any type of altercation. He wishes peace for everyone involved in the settlement.”
If anyone deserves it, it’s Wale — the very man who’s been putting on for the city since before the Blog Era. Big congrats to that man… we can’t wait to see what Folarin has in store next. Check out clips from the big night below.
A standout from Masego’s 2022 self-titled release gets a SERIOUS remix thanks to D.C. and London’s own. The creative way this clip is approached is immaculate.
UPDATE: Now with the official video (above). Shoutout to Pre Hefner and Foggieraw.
He’s back. The GOAT of D.C. returns with a new single titled “Max Julien,” which was itself preceded by some dope footage of the city he represents (below). The track also coincides with another announcement — that Folarin has inked a new deal with Def Jam. CanNOT wait to see what’s next (album?).
This isn’t new, but certain outlets like MyMixtapez have noticed that, in a past “Drink Champs” interview with Wale, N.O.R.E. was being super hot about the recently freed Fat Trel. As the question is posed in the below clip, is the NYC veteran being too hot with that lined of questioning?
Wale took to Twitter this afternoon to announce the rerelease of More about Nothing on streaming services on April 29th. A lot of people have been asking him to release this album on streaming services for years. We are very excited about this release. Take a look about the trailer above.
Taken from Folarin II. In addition to the new release, fans can also compete to purchase a pair of Tiffany Nikes for only a dollar:

For those of us who have existed within the D.C. Metropolitan area (not just D.C., but I’m not using that dumb ass term here), we have been able to witness what could be considered a second renaissance in hip hop — artists like Rico Nasty, IDK, and Cordae (yes, he counts) have continued a path made golden by Wale, Shy Glizzy, and Logic. Even better: there are a wealth of talented artists that are currently giving us an idea of what’s to come.
In this editorial, JUKEBOX:DC has created a ranked list of albums that we feel have had the greatest impact this year. This isn’t just about sales or stream — an album’s quality and creativeness are among other factors considered. As you’ll see, these are also albums that we’ve shared at the time of their respective releases — if we’ve missed anything, feel free to let us know so that we can be more on point moving forward.
Without further adieu, step into the rabbit hole below.
There should be zero debate at this point — No Savage has skyrocketed to the top of D.C. rap’s echelon in 2021. Solidifying this argument is the success of his latest project Life Of A Savage 2, which sees a couple of assist from fellow rising star NoCap and Glizzy Gang cohort Shy Glizzy. Immediately after its release, No Savage and his supporters made sure to confirm its position on both Apple Music and Billboard’s charts — just imagine what he’s going to accomplish next?
When it comes to music from this area, we would consider Premo Rice to be an anomaly — despite making music separate from what’s prevalent here, the P.G. County star has managed to maintain a successful career all his own. Case in point: his latest project, The Rice Tape, sees collaborations with Larry June, Akeem Ali, Young Deji, Southside Gauxst, and more. We’re not sure if he sees himself as underrated, but we definitely do — nobody around here is creating classic cuts like this.

Sorry to be anti-climatic but the top three really shouldn’t be anyone’s surprise. So — with that — we’ll keep it simple for those included: GoldLink, IDK, and (of course) Wale have continued to bless the masses with top tier, against-the-grain type vibes that both solidify their already concrete careers and help those under them that look to push to the forefront with a unique sound all their own. We really don’t feel as if anyone can argue that — ESPECIALLY in regards to Wale, who’s largely responsible for the spotlight on this city to begin with. Detractors can head elsewhere, period. ALSO: Yes, these three albums are the best out this year.
Lil Durk, Fat Trel, Young Moe hit the stage this weekend at WEG studio for Howard Homecoming. Wale stopped by to support Fat Trel for his first concert since being released from prison.
Wale sits down with Ebro in the Morning to discuss various topics including the Nigerian influence in today’s music, being considered the biggest artist to come out of Washington DC, his relationship w/ J. Cole and the story behind their single ‘Poke It Out’, his growth as an artist and as a person, making music for the ladies, and more.
He also shares never shared details behind some of the tracks on his latest project.
After dope singles alongside Maxo Kream, Chris Brown, and J. Cole, Wale finally unveils the sequel to his classic mixtape Folarin, which you can stream in full below.
