JABB – ‘Sensei’ (Album Stream)
Alexandria, VA’s finest, JABB, releases his first full-length project in years, entitled Sensei. The album showcases themes we can all relate to in the pandemic; the hustle and drive for more, romantic “entanglements”, and the struggle and stress when trying to make it. JABB shows that he can easily navigate the mainstream sound, rapping over modern Trap beats, and using Autotune easily. Organic collaborations with artists like 4Lo Drilla (free him) and VonnyFrmmDaAtm are must-listens, as well as songs like “Bentley Truck” and “Different”. The project is cohesive and enjoyable the whole way through, but each song could be a Singles by itself. Stream Sensei below.
4LO Drilla – ‘Drilla McGrady’ (Stream)
One year on from his mixtape Voice of The Projex, Alexandria, Virginia native Drilla gives us a worthy sequel with the long-anticipated Drilla McGrady. Continuing on his pensive street tales over somber guitar beats, Drilla McGrady shows versatility as well, Drilla raps over sample beats (see “First Day Out” featuring JABB, and “PTSD”), traditional trap (“Catch A Bomb” featuring PacoSuavee), throwback trap (“Phone Number”, “Let It Rain”) and uses Autotune comfortably (“Who Am I” with Young Moe, “Heart Froze”, “Too Deep”). I could list off tracks and why I like them, but better to listen for yourself. Drilla is up next, Drilla McGrady is out now.

A number of Alexandria, Virginia residents came out in full support to pay tribute to a life lost. Cobain, JABB and Rambo rapped their fitting tribute in a video directed by David Sharp. Enjoy and remember, life is short.
