Damn, bro. Our whole generation is in straight turmoil. From NBC News:
Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2013, died in Georgia, authorities said.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner said in a statement that Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital notified its personnel Thursday of the rapper’s death.
He was 33, the office said.
A cause and manner of death was not released. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, the medical examiner said.
The artist, whose given name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, scored a big hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” He followed it up in 2015 with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).”
Rapper Boosie Badazz posted about his friend’s death on social media.
He said the two had “GOOD ASS MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE. #restupquan.”
Boosie Badazz said the two artists were collaborating together before Rich Homie Quan’s death.
Rich Homie Quan’s family and his management representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.
Aug. 19: Below lies the press release update from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. You can also read through the unsealed document here.
Trayon White Sr., the D.C. Councilmember representing Ward 8, was arrested yesterday on a criminal complaint charging him with bribery. White, 40, is Chair of the Council’s Committee on Recreation, Libraries and Youth Affairs, which oversees several agencies including the D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS).
The complaint alleges that, beginning in June 2024, White corruptly agreed to accept $156,000 in cash payments in exchange for using his position as a D.C. Councilmember to pressure government employees at Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) and DYRS to extend several D.C. contracts. The contracts at issue were valued at $5.2 million and were for two companies to provide Violence Intervention services in D.C. As alleged, the $156,000 White agreed to accept in exchange for using his official position to pressure renewal of those contracts to particular companies was three percent of the total contract value. According to the complaint, White’s agreement with a confidential human source (the owner of the companies) – including the source’s payments to White of $35,000 in cash on four separate occasions (June 26, July 17, July 25, and August 9, 2024) and the source showing White a document reflecting how White’s three-percent cut was calculated based on those contracts – was captured on video.
The arrest and charge was announced by U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Matthew M. Graves, FBI Special Agent in Charge David J. Scott of the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division, D.C. Inspector General Daniel Lucas, and Executive Special Agent in Charge Kareem A. Carter of the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI) Washington, D.C. Field Office.
“Because the investigation into the alleged bribery scheme involved contracts that could soon be awarded and other potential official acts that could be taken, our Office took swift steps to address the alleged crimes we were investigating,” said U.S. Attorney Graves.
This ongoing investigation is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, the FBI Washington Field Office, the D.C. Office of the Inspector General, and the IRS Criminal Investigation Washington Field Office.

The Washington Post reported that Ward 8 councilmember Trayon White Sr. was taken into custody by the FBI. “The circumstances of the arrest and the nature of the allegations against White were not immediately clear,” the report stated while also adding that the FBI nor White’s team commented on the situation.
The city’s notorious drug kingpin-turned-informant has found freedom. From NBC:
A D.C. cocaine kingpin who’s been in prison for more than 35 years has been released.
Rayful Edmond, 59, got out Wednesday and is in a Nashville halfway house, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said.
The notorious gangster’s release from prison came as a bit of a surprise. As recently as last week, a judge in Pennsylvania denied Edmond’s request for a compassionate release, and two weeks ago, D.C. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan denied a request for another sentence reduction.
Edmond was convicted in 1990 of running a cocaine ring that racked up millions of dollars in sales and sent the murder rate so high the District was dubbed the “murder capital” of the nation. The crack epidemic had the District in a vice grip for years with countless murders linked to it.
Webbie‘s DJ, T Gutta, has reportedly committed a murder-suicide, killing his wife and himself shortly after posting a rant online about hating working for the Louisiana artist.
Fox 5 Atlanta reported that authorities rushed to the scene in Powder Springs, Georgia, on Sunday (June 9) after being alerted of hearing several gunshots. Two bodies were found at the residence that was later identified by Powder Springs Police Captain J.W. Holcombe in an official statement to the outlet, saying, “I can confirm that Natorius Brown died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds after killing Kalisha Seddens-Dunn… I am being told that he went by that name [T Gutta] when performing.”
Brown shared a lengthy message to Facebook hours before allegedly committing the murder-suicide. In the post, the DJ complained about working with Webbie and how he went through “hell” daily as his employee. T Gutta later accused Webb of doing everything he could to stop other people around him from taking any shine or spotlight away from him.
“Dawg DJin for Webbie is a living hell!” he wrote. “1st That ni**a don’t want to pay. Then that ni**a don’t want to see nobody around him shine! Like nobody, not even his own brother…Why y’all think everybody left from around him? I was only supposed to be his tour DJ, but I had to be a driver, [doctor], security, PR, babysitter, booking agent, referee, counselor, road manager, and a list of other things,” the post read. “But yet this ni**a didn’t appreciate none of it. I did all that sh*t with a smile on my face in front of thousands every night, but I was dying inside. All the times he had seizures on the planes, on stages in the hotels, who y’all think was there? Me! Becuz his family ain’t wanna deal with him, or nobody on our team wanted to deal with him but me! Our driver quit cuz he ain’t wanna pay him. Then every time we would try to make our money in other ways, he always found a way to stop that too.
“So it’s like he don’t wanna pay but don’t want us eating nowhere else. Then the ni**a wanna get mad & in his feelings when Boosie need us to help him. The ni**a a straight hater! I can’t remember how many times he’s told me he don’t want nobody blowing up off his name! That’s why he don’t do features! & he don’t like taking pictures with other artist or fans. Ni**a think they tryna get shine off him.”
While the music world has been distracted by Taylor Swift’s new album and the beef between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake, two artists from Woodbridge, Virginia have quietly climbed to the top of the Billboard charts. Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy”), have amassed over one hundred million streams each on Spotify since their release dates in April. “Million Dollar Baby” is currently second on the Billboard Hot 100, after Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s “Fortnite”. It also topped Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart and is the third most popular song on Apple Music. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsey”) has reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country chart, and their Digital Song Sales chart. The song also climbed to third on the Billboard Hot 100, just below “Million Dollar Baby” and fifth on Apple Music (since this article was written the song has dropped two places on the Hot 100 Chart.)
Tommy Richman, who crooned “VA next, I’m at they neck”, rose to prominence last year after catching the attention of Maryland R&B artist Brent Faiyaz with his unique hybrid singing rap style and memorable hooks. Faiyaz announced that Richman was the first artist signed to his imprint ISO Supremacy, a joint venture with distributor UnitedMasters and Concord Music subsidiary Pulse Records. Richman appeared on Faiyaz’s 2023 album Larger Than Life. Before the release of “Million Dollar Baby”, the song became popular on TikTok after Richman posted multiple snippets. Maryland natives and long-time DMV Rap producers Mannyvelli and Sparkheem are two of the co-producers on the song.
Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze, signed to Republic Records in 2014 (and later American Dogwood and EMPIRE). He rose to prominence after he was featured on two songs from Beyoncé’s most recent album, Cowboy Carter. Born to Nigerian parents and raised in Woodbridge, his artist name is a nod to a mispronunciation of his Igbo-language last name Chibueze. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” interpolates J-Kwon’s 2004 classic “Tipsey”. In an interview with Billboard earlier this month, his co-manager Jared Cotter explained that Shaboozey was able to capitalize off of the success of Cowboy Carter, pushing the release date for his single forward three weeks. When “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” surpassed Beyoncé’s song “Texas Hold ‘Em” at the top of the Country chart, it was the first time since 1958 that two Black artists have lead the chart back-to-back.
Woodbridge, an outer suburb of Washington D.C., has had notable artists and bands in the Rap, Metal and Punk scenes for decades, but never to this level of commercial success. Country music legend Emmylou Harris also attended high school in Woodbridge and heavy metal pioneers Pentagram are often misattributed as being from Woodbridge (they are from Alexandria).
The cover to Tommy Richman’s last single “Selfish”
Shaboozey’s third album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going is due to be released May 31st. He will be headlining shows across the U.S and opening for TikTok sensation Jessie Murph on tour. Tommy Richman is scheduled to play Chicago’s Lollapalooza music festival in August.
Baton Rouge native and rap superstar, NBA YoungBoy, has been arrested in Utah, where he has been serving strict house arrest during legal proceedings stemming from a pair of arrests during a music video shoot in 2020.
According to jail records from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, the 24-year-old, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was booked on several charges Tuesday evening, April 16 around 6:30 p.m.
Jail records show YoungBoy was taken into custody on the following charges:
pattern of unlawful activity
procuring or attempting to procure drug/prescription
identity fraud
forgery
possession of other controlled substances
possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person
YoungBoy is awaiting trial for federal gun charges, which was paused in March pending the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Second Amendment rights this spring.
Former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead in a Florida mansion, police said Monday.
He was 35.
Officers were called Monday morning to a residence on the 6000 block of SW 178th Avenue by the house assistant, who discovered Davis’ body at the Southwest Ranches’ home, the Davie Police Department said in a statement.
“Preliminary information suggests that foul play is not involved,” the department said.
Details about how Davis died were not released.
Broward County property records indicate the nearly $3 million home is owned by Adaline Davis, identified by NBC South Florida as Davis’ grandmother. Other records indicate Vontae Davis lived at the home.
The Broward County medical examiner’s office said Monday afternoon that it is investigating Davis’ death.
“There is no further information available pending a full examination, further testing, and studies. It can take up to 90 days to complete the investigation and determine the cause and manner of death,” the agency said in a statement.
This one might be the hardest loss for JUKEBOXDC to date… and all over a stupid, senseless act. RIP to a true great — a great artist and a great friend.
A D.C. rapper was killed during the robbery of a dispensary where he worked despite cooperating with the robbers.
Philip Prendergast, known as Phil Da Phuture, was shot during a robbery inside Hotbox on Georgia Avenue NW near Hamilton Street just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The 41-year-old was working when two armed men robbed the dispensary, police said. One of the men shot Prendergast before leaving.
Prendergast died at a hospital.
Anyone who knows anything that can help with the investigation should call police. There is a $25,000 reward.

A 16-year-old known as “Baby K” has taken a plea deal in the case tied to the attempted killing of a student on a Prince George’s County, Maryland, school bus in May 2023.
Under the terms of the deal, “Baby K,” whose real name is Kaeden Holland, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and weapons charges. The deal calls for a 60-year sentence, with all but 25 years suspended. That means if the judge accepts the deal during sentencing, Holland would spend 25 years behind bars.
While Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy acknowledged that’s a lengthy prison time given Holland was 15 at the time of the crime, she said it’s justified in this case.
“The result of what could have been, had that gun fired, would have been permanent. So we believe that this is an appropriate request from the state,” Braveboy said.
The deal also calls for Holland to serve his time at the Patuxtent Institution, a maximum-security, adult prison that offers therapy and counseling programs.
“The programs at that institution, we believe, will provide Mr. Holland with the best opportunity for rehabilitation and to be able, at some point in the future, to reenter our community safely,” Braveboy said.
Holland will be sentenced May 17.
Attempted first-degree murder carries a maximum penalty of life in prison in Prince George’s County, while Holland faced an additional 20 years for the weapons charge.
OJ da Juiceman’s ‘brick’ lyrics and infectious ad-libs may be his claim to fame — but Georgia officials are looking at him in a different light after they say the rapper was ridin’ dirty.
According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, OJ was flagged for allegedly speeding in Coweta County, GA on March 4 around 10 PM … and gave responding officers a short chase before he eventually pulled over.
After being apprehended, Coweta County sheriffs say OJ had cocaine and a 9mm handgun in his 2024 Ford Expedition and popped him on charges for drug trafficking in cocaine and other drugs, fleeing cops, firearm possession, and failure to maintain his lane.
We’re told the 42-year-old rapper has been sitting in the jail since the arrest.
Authorities say two people are dead, and one person is injured after a shooting inside Trackhouse Studios in Laurel, Maryland.
The shooting was reported just after 1:34 a.m. at the studios in the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to a nearby hospital where they later died. Police say a third victim remains hospitalized after self-transporting to a nearby medical center.
Police say they are speaking with witnesses who were on scene when the shooting happened. Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the community. Preliminarily, it appears the shooting resulted from a dispute between two groups of people.
“We are saddened by this and want to build trust within our community,” said Ross James, owner of Trackhouse Studios in a statement released Tuesday morning.
Laurel Chief of Police Russell Hamill says the two murders mark the first two homicides in the city this year.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Laurel Police Department at 301-498-0092 or email LPDtips@laurel.md.us.
Baltimore rapper Lor X was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for overseeing a gang that distributed fentanyl throughout Southwest Baltimore.
Circuit Judge Lawrence R. Daniels imposed a total sentence of 40 years incarceration but suspended the majority of time behind bars for the rapper, whose legal name is Xavier Johnson.
“He’s going to have 25 years hanging over his head,” Daniels said of Johnson’s eventual release. “I got to tell you, Mr. Johnson, if you so much as spit on the sidewalk, I’ll give you all of it.”
The judge’s comments punctuated a tense sentencing hearing for Johnson, 33, who pleaded guilty in September to one count of organizing, supervising and financing a gang and two counts of being in possession of large quantities of a mixture of drugs containing fentanyl.
If you missed it, you can see Logic talking with his pops here. From the latest episode of the “Joe Budden Podcast”:
“I feel sorry for him… I feel sorry for the people that feel they have to speak down on their parents ’cause they have resentments. And if you wanna do that, you don’t have to do that on camera for the sake of content. I think Logic has a lot of that self-hate inside of him and it comes out in these weird ways. I wanted to smack Logic for talking to his dad like that. I see that shit and pray for him.”
“I didn’t need this interview to know that Logic hates his dad … You have no problem leasing the blackness that dad gave you even though, by your admission, you and dad are not [close]. So now you think it’s comfortable for you to sit in front of your black father’s face and say, ‘N*gga.’ You think you got a lot of passes that I don’t believe you to have. That’s how a lot of his music comes off to me. My beef with Logic is his internal identity crisis that he has with himself.”
We imagine that, in the hood reality TV world (ie. Zeus or, as Kanye put it, “the exploitation business”), this makes all the sense in the world. From TMZ:
On Friday, Chrisean burst onto IG with a newfound faith in the father of her baby boy — she updated her profile pic with one of the “Thotiana” rapper’s mugshots but more shockingly, announced she was moving back into one of his houses!!!
Fans were confused and displeased … the last time these 2 were spotted publicly, they both had conflicting stories but left every indication they had a fight, and a very bloody one at that!!!
She also posted a pair of new pics with their kid, but went out of her way to show support for Blue by making sure her “Jonathan” signature face tat was visible.
Another one of Gucci Mane’s artists behind bars. Taken from KWTX:
A Waco rapper and admitted member of the street gang Crips was sentenced to prison Thursday on multiple felony counts that include violent acts against the mothers of his children.
Wesley Takquan Lewis, known by his rapper name Hotboy Wes, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by 19th State District Judge Thomas West after Lewis pleaded guilty to 10 counts alleged in six separate indictments.
Lewis, 28, appearing virtually at the hearing from the McLennan County Jail, pleaded guilty to two enhanced counts of assault family violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, endangering children, criminal mischief of more than $2,500 and theft from a person in offenses ranging from 2020 to 2023.
West sentenced Lewis to 15 years in prison on multiple counts and 24 months in prison on the state jail felony offenses, ordering the sentences to be served concurrently. Lewis, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2013 for an engaging in organized criminal activity conviction, must serve at least 7 ½ years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
The first page of Gizwop’s D.C. District Court case.
In another major blow to Washington D.C.’s burgeoning rap music scene, local rapper Gizwop (real name Russell Campbell) was sentenced to 30 months in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to firearms charges last September. Campbell is from the Fort Dupont area of Southeast D.C., specifically the neighborhood around 37th Street and 37th Place, Southeast. According to court documents, he was arrested after fleeing a car during a traffic stop in 2022. Multiple weapons were found when the car was searched, including an automatic pistol that when swabbed, had a DNA profile that matched Campbell’s DNA. He is best known for his collaborations with rappers like No Savage, Baby Jamo and former Grammy nominee Shy Glizzy, who are all also from the same neighborhood east of the Anacostia River.
Gizwop has made headlines for his legal troubles instead of his music, much like his peers. According to TMZ, Shy Glizzy was arrested last May on criminal charges, accused of pulling a gun on his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her. No Savage was sentenced in June of 2023 to felony firearm charges after a 2022 incident where he fired a gun inside a crowded Northern Virginia shopping mall. Baby Jamo made national news in November after crashing a car into a barricade outside the United States Capitol building.
A viral Gizwop music video from 2022.
The story of Campbell’s conviction is also relevant to the District’s ongoing problems with violent crime and issues with systemic racism in America’s justice system. In his sentencing hearing yesterday, Campbell was found guilty of unlawfully possessing a firearm while under indictment, and unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon. According to court documents, Gizwop became a felon after being convicted of gun charges. He was a minor when arrested for these charges, but was tried as an adult. Black youths in America are significantly more likely to be sent to juvenile facilities and to be tried as adults.
Violent crime has been trending downwards nationally since the 1980’s. In 2020, as tensions flared at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and after the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, violent crime did have its largest rise in years, but crime rate fell dramatically afterwards. Washington D.C. was the most noticeable exception, especially in 2023. The city had 274 homicides, making D.C.’s homicide rate rise the second highest of any major city in the U.S. The city has faced a police shortage, and fewer arrests were made in 2023, which has been blamed as a potential culprit for the continued violence. But, D.C. has a number of social problems that seem likely to be related, including chronic absenteeism in public schools. Gizwop is just one of many in the District whose criminal record reflects a larger trend.
Russell Campbell, 21, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 30 months in prison in connection with his possession of a Glock firearm and possession of an AK-style pistol recovered during a traffic stop by the U.S. Secret Service.
The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves, FBI Special Agent in Charge David J. Scott of the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division, Special Agent in Charge Craig Kailimai of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Special Agent in Charge Michael Buck of the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division, and Chief Pamela A. Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Campbell is an influential rapper who performs as “Gizwop.” He is affiliated with a violent group originating in 37th Place SE that refers to themselves as the Fox 5 Gang.
In addition to the prison term, Campbell was ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Christopher R. Cooper to serve three years of supervised release.
Campbell pleaded guilty September 21, 2023, to a two-count indictment, charging him with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm while under indictment and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person convicted of a felony.
Yo Gotti’s brother, Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims, was shot and killed this weekend … TMZ has confirmed.
Sources with direct knowledge tell us the rapper’s older sibling was gunned down Saturday in Memphis on near Winchester Road. Per reports, this murder took place after he’d attended a funeral service in the area.
There are photos and videos circulating online that purportedly show Jook bleeding on the ground with people attending to him. The exact details of the shooting are unclear at this point … but Jook is confirmed dead.
Big Jook was incredibly close to his famous brother … he appears to officially be affiliated with Gotti’s label Collective Music Group — promoting artists under the imprint and appearing in music videos for them as well. Jook seemed to be more so on the business side.
It’s sad that he happened to be killed during a time of mourning — something he alluded to in one of his last IG Stories Saturday … where he was honoring a fallen relative.
Blac Chyna a.k.a. Angela White’s mother Tokyo Toni is sneaking behind her back hoping to get into her daughter’s ex-boyfriend’s pants … at least that’s what these leaked DMs suggest.
Chyna and rapper Lil Twin Hector dated for a couple of years before breaking up in 2020 but on Thursday he confirmed his claims that Toni was sending him explicit DMs on Instagram — by posting the explicit DMs on Instagram for all the world to see.
Very nasty work on display … Toni initially hit up Twin, apparently threatening to take a flight just to beat up her daughter, which prompted Twin to send her a passionate message asking to fill her heart with love.
It turned out to be bait for a thirst trap … Tokyo swore up and down Chyna was jealous of her natural body and then bared it all in the DMs in an attempt to arouse Twin.
The breaking point for Twin came when Tokyo sent him a clip of her while covered in blankets … and pounding on her poom-poom.
Hector was so disgusted that he made a diss track/video titled “Ms Toni” and included the DMs as visual evidence.
Ari Lennox talks about a “very, very, hard and lonely” time opening up on tour w/ Rod Wave
“I get why it does not makes sense to open up for … anybody. I watched it with Rico Nasty. There’s a certain type of fan base that you’re like, literally aggressive” https://t.co/lwSjv4rfSQpic.twitter.com/RrMUIEqfkD
If you recall, Ari Lennox was the supporting act for Rod Wave’s most recent tour — something that certainly left us a bit quizzical. Even worse, Rod Wave’s fans constantly mistreated the D.C. songstress during the run, with one particular bottle throwing incident (and Lennox’s reaction to the act) going viral. Above, she breaks down the nonsense that she endured at that time.
From HipHopDX, where you can read more on the story:
Bandhunta Jugg, the brother of Bandhunta Izzy and an active member of Baltimore’s Hip Hop scene, has died. He was 28 years old.
Jugg was one of five victims shot during an incident in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Baltimore in the early morning hours on Saturday (December 23). He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four others were reportedly taken to an area hospital for treatment, though there has been no update on their conditions.
Per The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore County Police officers responded to a call around 4:05 am on Saturday. Upon arriving on the scene at a strip mall located on the 1800 block of Woodlawn Drive, they found one person deceased and four others who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives on the scene centered their onsite investigation around a white Hyundai with New Jersey plates.
Rapper Kodak Black was arrested on charges of cocaine possession in Plantation, Florida, on Thursday, according to court documents.
The musician, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was also charged with tampering with evidence as well as probation violation and improper stop or park.
Kapri, 26, was allegedly seen early Thursday morning parked in a roadway by a Broward County officer, who said he was obstructing the path.
The officer approached the vehicle and found Kapri alone in the car, asleep. The officer said he “smelled a strong odor of burnt cannabis” in the car and found a styrofoam cup in the door handle that smelled like alcohol, as well as cannabis wrapping paper and suspected cannabis residue, per the court document.
Kapri was advised to exit his car by the officer, who, when reviewing the rapper’s driver’s license and car registration, allegedly “noticed white powder falling from his person.”
The officer exited his car and allegedly saw Kapri’s mouth “full of white powder,” making him believe the rapper was “trying to discard illegal narcotics.”
After placing Kapri in handcuffs, the officer saw “white rock like substances on the ground” that the rapper told him was Percocet, according to court documents.
The white substance was positively identified as cocaine on the scene and weighed at 4.1 grams, according to court documents.
Kapri was arrested and released later that day on $5,000 bond.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again shocked fans when he told them that his ongoing beef with Lil Durk is over.
On Tuesday, December 5, Million Dollaz Worth Of Game host Gillie Da Kid posted a video in which he reveals the two artists he wants to headline his Gilliefest 2. The Philly native said he’d want Lil Durk and YoungBoy to headline the show on the same night in order to show younger fans that their beef doesn’t matter. YB saw the video and decided to provide fans with a positive update that may give Gillie hope about his dream lineup.
“OG, I talk to Durk like every 2-3 nights,” YoungBoy said in a video he posted to social media. “He be talking to me about my music. He focused on a billion dollars right now.”
“Get them to let me out of this house, I hit that stage for you,” YB continued. “How you want me to come? Every chain on or just one chain.”
YB added that his issues with Durk were just “entertainment.” It didn’t sound too entertaining when YB and Durk were fully engaged in a lyrical back-and-forth last year following the release of the OTF leader’s “Ahhh Ha.” YB responded to Durk on his “I Hate YoungBoy” track, which also featured swipes at Gucci Mane, Lil Baby and others. YB also fanned the flames of their beef with “F**k The Industry Pt. 2” in which he called out J. Cole for collaborating with Durk.
