Lightshow – If These Walls Could Talk (Mixtape)
Lightshow is having quite a break-through year, with music on ESPN, songs with Kap G, and what seems like a steadily expanding fan base. To celebrate that, the Southeast DC rapper has just released his latest mixtape, If These Walls Could Talk, hosted by DJ Dynamite. The project has Trap tales, prayers, songs about relationships, the usual diversity you can expect from Lightshow, as well as some standout features from Icewear Vezzo and Kap. Production from Yung Lan, Mark Henry, Beat Zombie, Slick Go Ham and others. Enjoy.
Lightshow Ft. Kap G – “Proper” (Video) X “Trap Line Ring” Ft. Acey Ace
We had to catch up with Lightshow today, the DC rapper has been very busy lately. Last week Worldstar premiered his video “Proper” with Kap G, shot when Kap was up in DC. He also released a new loosie, “Trap Line Ring” with newcomer Acey Ace and the ever-present Beat Zombie. The freestyle is a Trap response to “Hotline Bling.”

Kap G – La Policia (Remix) ft. TI & David Banner
Kap G recruits TIP and David Banner for the remix to his protest track. The Fader premiered it, adding thoughts from all three artists. I’m not sure how well TI fit on this, but he had a solid verse. Banner’s quote was my favorite; “From the beginning, the relationship between police departments and communities of color has been a tumultuous one. For too long, some officers have abused their authority and have not upheld their commitment to protect and serve all members of the community.”
