This seemed worth putting up, though it’d be nice to have a video…from DCist:
On Saturday, Mayor Fenty and chief rival Vincent Gray attended the dedication of Lil’ Benny Way, an alley near U Street NW. The ceremony took place off 11th Street, between T and U Streets. Anthony “Lil’ Benny” Hurley died in May at the age of 46. He was a noted go-go pioneer, and the event honored his contributions to the District. According to an account at the Post, the event was an odd mix of campaign and ceremony. Fenty supporter Ron Moten was indeed present, touting that Fenty had given Hurley “the biggest funeral in D.C.” If we recall, Fenty was booed at Hurley’s funeral. Council chair candidate Kwame Brown and Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham were also in attendance.
