Today, it was announced that Wyclef has been appointed as a visiting fellow in the Department of Africana Studies at Brown University in Rhode Island. For the 2010-11 semester, Clef will partake in lectures and events that support the school’s Haitian initiative. In a statement Clef said:“I hope to make a genuine contribution to the rich intellectual community at the University and to its Haitian Initiative in particular.â€
Earlier this year, the rapper was awarded a honoary doctorate from Western Connecticut State University in Connecitcut and in March he was honored at Harvard University.
