Before you check that out, check out the video above where Wale speaks on his contributions to Self Made and his lyrical content. Afterword, you can check out the breakdown and full interview links below on how this argument turned conversation transpired in the first place. Spotted on UHTN.

If you follow Wale on Twitter, you’re pretty observant to the fact that this guy has a chip on his shoulder. And to be fair, a lot of us do. But when it comes to the D.C. native, he makes SURE you know it’s their. The homey Culture VI, an outspoken individual in the hip-hop community decided to explore this explosive chip on Wale’s shoulder.

What first started out as a “Twitter Beef” turned into an intelligent discussion about why Wale possess this chip, his debut album Attention Deficit, what he perceives as interesting, how people view him and much much more. After the jump, you can find an excerpt from the interview where Wale talks about his contributions to Self Made and his lyrical content as well the audio from the first 10 minutes as well as links to the entire pow wow between Wale and Culture VI. Naughty By Nature – The Hip-Hop Chronicle Interview

Last week before the Naughty By Nature and Ice Cube concert in London, I sat down with the guys for this interview.

I start off with discussing why Naughty are so underrated.

Treach, Vin Rock and Kay Gee then speak on how the group were originally called “New Style”. Off camera, I was talking about “Yoke The Joker” with Treach and told me to listen to the song carefully because you can hear Queen Latifah in the background say “New Style”

They also speak on their memorable studio moments including when Kay Gee wasn’t a fan of the “Uptown Anthem” beat.Sumit

Mick Boogie Presents… Excursions: A Tribe Called Quest (Mixtape)

I have really got to go see that documentary…tracklisting and download link after the jump.
A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite groups of all time… in any genre of music. After seeing Michael Rapaport’s amazing documentary on the group, I felt inspired to put together a mix and this is the end result. This is NOT a greatest hits mix. This mix is for the true Tribe fans only… the die-hards who know every lyric and remember every interlude. I thought it would be cool to basically create the “lost” Tribe album… with all the rare songs, demos, limited-edition remixes, and collaborations you may have missed over the years. I hope when you enjoy this as much as I do, and hear some things you have never heard before. Special thank you to UNDRCRWN for the amazing artwork. Long live A Tribe Called Quest!

Fat Joe Supports “Big Pun Back”

After Liza Rios and Cuban Link weren’t too happy about Joell Ortiz’s “Big Pun Back”, Fat Joe supports it 100%. In an sit down with XXL, Joey Crack praises Joell Ortiz for his ode to Punisher.

“I thought it was incredible. I thought it was great. I never seen a guy in my fucking life get backlash for fucking biggin’ up somebody.”
Fat Joe also chastises Pun’s former associates.

“See, what happened is Big Pun was surrounded by an enormous amounts of idiots. And, sad to say, as big of a genius he was, and beautiful as he was, and I’m not just saying that ’cause he dead, ’cause he was the most loyal, beautiful person… He’s my brother. I worship him to death… But, it’s unfortunate he was surrounded by a bunch of fucking idiots. Nincompoops. You got a younger Spanish dude who’s hot in the streets and he wants to honor Big Pun and you throw slander at him and you disrespect him for fucking only honoring Pun? How do expect anybody else to honor Big Pun?! Or talk about him in a good way?!”
