Troy Davis was officially pronounced dead at 11:08 pm EST last night in the State of Georgia. Last night, Davis’ execution was delayed due to a request for a stay, but it was denied by the Supreme Court hours later. Troy Davis was convicted of murdering an off-duty police officer in 1989, but witnesses have recanted their testimonies over the years. Recently, thousands across the nation protested and petitioned to prevent today’s execution.
