This is the slick debut single from Roses Gabor on Toddla T’s label, Girls Music. Roses has already had releases on Digital Soundboy and Young Turks through her collaborations with some of the most respected producers going… Buraka Som Sistema, Shy FX, SBTRKT, Gorillaz and Redlight. ‘Stars’ is a song for clubs and night bus journeys alike- both contemplative and energetic. The atmospheric and emotive intro gives way to a rumbling bassline and off kilter drum programming. Roses voice is a perfect fit for the warm synths and moody beats which she shakes up with her feisty chopped up vocals.
Produced by Redlight and directed by Natalia Stuyk.
If you like what you’re hearing you can preorder her latest EP here.
We posted about this earlier, and the Girls Aloud crew have given us another teaser to get us ready for whatever it is they plan to hit us with on Friday.
From NME:
The success of Adele’s album ’21’ helped boost her label XL Recordings’ profits to £41.7million in 2011.
The massively popular album, which features the hit singles ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Rolling In The Deep’, sold over 10million copies in the UK after its release. The record profits have seen label boss Richard Russell paid an £8.5million dividend while parent company Beggars Banquet chief Martin Mills received a similar amount.
The huge sum is put into context by the fact the label saw its bank balance go from £3million to £32million in the space of 12 months. The label’s financial figures were revealed by the Sunday Times Business supplement.
