b.east is a new “beat-maker” I came across today from DC. He has a golden age style reminiscent of DJ Premier with hints of influence from modern off-kilter producers such as Madlib and locally-bred oddisee. He just put this classic Ghost and Rae remix out today,. The beat is almost off tempo and pretty strange. I really vibed with it though. Apparently b.east has a new album coming out soon too.
