How or why CNN (or, more specifically, CNN writer Eliott C. McLaughlin) decided to crown Nas the greatest MC of all time is beyond me, but it’s not like it’s not a good argument. It’s a really great read that you, the Hip-Hop fan, should check out on your own here, but below is an excerpt:
Let’s begin with a disclaimer: Nas doesn’t endorse the following sentence.
But he’s the greatest lyricist of all time.
Those words were carefully chosen: “lyricist” over “rapper” or “hip-hop artist;” “greatest” instead of “most successful;” “all time” rather than “today.”
Those distinctions are important. Still, Nas isn’t buying it.
“It’s wayyyyyy, way, way too early in our lives,” he said when asked where he fits among history’s best MCs. “It’s great to put a list together, but don’t take it too seriously because your list won’t matter 10 years from now or 15 years from now. It’ll be a different list.”
OK, no lists then; just a strong case for Nas being the best rhymesmith ever, the GOAT, numero uno, and a humble concession that this is but one man’s opinion and yours are enthusiastically welcomed below.

The Normal “Donkey of the Day” on Power1051 morning show “The Breakfast Club” took an interesting turn when Charlemagne gave Donkey of the Day to DJ Envy … who later revealed he’s been acting really weird because of problems at home with his wife. It is unclear if he is cheating but it seems he may have been caught stepping out of his marriage. He then proceeds to call up his wife live on air and apologize.

Freddy E. was sign to Tyga and was well known for being a YouTube sensation with his series of videos as the host of JERKTV.
Freddy E committed suicide after a series of tweets, which appear to lead up to the moments of his death.

I find it pretty hilarious that folks are now blaming Justin Bieber’s recent bad habits on the Black kid from Young Money. If you haven’t heard, Biebs was caught in a hotel room sippin’ some coughee, and is now feeling bad about it. Marijuana. Also, as it turns out, it was Lil’ Twist that was driving Justin’s whip on the evening that Paparazzi photographer was killed. And now, from TMZ:
Justin Bieber is under the influence … of a rapper named Lil Twist — and the rapper may be leading JB down a dangerous path.
Twist was with Bieber in a Newport Beach hotel room last week, where, we’re told, the rapper was happily rolling blunts for J.B. and others.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … JB and Twist have become tight … and have been smoking together on a number of other occasions.
Twist’s Twitter profile pic makes it clear … he’s a fan.
Sources involved in Justin’s life who care about him are deeply concerned that Twist has become a powerful negative influence in his life and feel very strongly Justin needs a clean break from the rapper or else bad things are going to happen.
