Shlohmo & Jeremih: Songs From Scratch (Adidas Originals)

This episode of “Songs From Scratch” series wasn’t our idea. Sure we dreamt, prayed, and wished for it, but so did a million other people sweating through sheets to Shlohomo’s ubiquitous “Fuck U All The Time” remix. And as the play counts climbed, I’d even bet that Shlohmo himself let an eyelash leave his thumb with this wish on his breathe. So once Jeremih got wind of the song’s success, all it took was one late night in January to make you and yours truly’s wishes come true. Introducing the first official collaboration between Shlohmo and Jeremih, the latest in Yours Truly and adidas originals “Songs from Scratch” series.

Their debut collaboration, “Bo Peep” will be made available Tuesday March 19. In the meantime, grab yourself a pair of tickets to see Jeremih and Shlohmo at The Fonda in LA, and grab a pair of Shlohmo’s new Laid Out EP.

Lil’ Jon – Work

work-cover

Lil’ Jon is not only still making music, but he will also be going on tour courtesy of Zumba Fitness. As such, he dropped a new track to get your ass into shape (as if his other songs weren’t inducing enough):

“Fitness and health are important to me, and Zumba fans hit me up all the time tellin’ me how my songs and voice motivate them to get them through their workout. Now we’re helping to bring the Zumba experience to the nightclub scene. I’m excited to DJ this tour and give Zumba fans a fitness party they’ll never forget!”

Curren$y Showered With ‘Marijuana’ During Performance In Miami

While making it rain money in the strip club may be tax deductible soon, making it rain marijuana may not have quite the same financial effect. Here’s ashort clip of Currensy’s concert from last week in Miami. He goes into his set, & then stops when fans start tossing blunts on the stage. He then performs “Elevator Music” and his “I Got 5 on it” Freestyle. Fat Joe was also in attendance.

Action Bronson – Morey Boogie Boards

harry-fraud-adrift

Produced by Harry Fraud, who has a mixtape coming soon (Adrift drops this Friday):

Adrift is a project that rounds up all the random songs I have produced for people over the last year and a half outside of my immediate Coke Boys and SRFCHL families, as well as previously unreleased songs from Action Bronson, Mac Miller, French Montana, Chevy Woods, and Chinx Drugz. This project is meant to serve as a prequel to the EP I will be releasing with Scion AV in late April. Also look out for an instrumental project, as well as a collection of music from me and French Montana coming in the next two months.

BREAKING: Man Spreading HIV Story Is A HOAX

isaac_burks_500x281

Unfortunately, sometimes fact-checking goes wrong. Or not at all. As we were one of the many sites to mistook the main source for something it wasn’t, we have to apologize for posting the story as well. From Examiner:

Friday, a news report from an NBC affiliate in New York circulated the web via blogs claiming that police were searching for a man named Isaac Don Burks for intentionally spreading HIV in the NY Tri-State area. Over the weekend the story spread like wildfire via blogs, Facebook, Twitter, even Michael Baisden and Steve Harvey shared the “story”. On Monday, the original source was called into question when the link being shared redirected to an Augusta news site.

The original source came from a fake site made to look like the NBC New York 4 website. The slight difference was in the domain. The real NBC affiliate’s domain is www.nbcnewyork.com the fake site used www.nbcnewyork4.com. The original story url still shows up in Google search as http://nbcnewyork4.com/news/local/fugitive-wanted-for-intentionally-spre… yet you no longer go to the original report. Instead, when you click on the link you are directed to an Augusta story about the same man, but for a different incident in 2010 involving identity fraud and forgery.

Let’s not forget that there was a picture used (above) fron a guy that might now be having the worst year ever due to the hoax. He took to his Facebook page to address the matter.

Snoop Lion – Skee TV Interview; Speaks On Squashing Beef With Suge Knight

DJ Skee and AXS TV / Skee.TV sat down with Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) for an extended, in depth, and, at times, very personal chat. This uncut interview covers the evolution of his identity and music including his first comments after squashing his beef with Suge Knight, discussing the meaning behind his new album and documentary, Reincarnated, why he is speaking out about gun violence, putting Drake on his new single and his connection to gun violence (after a gun incident in Toronto), working on a reggae album with Diplo, and much more.

MTV’s Hottest MC In The Game #3: Rick Ross

Get More:
Music News

I pretty much tuned out after #4.

“When you talk about some of these cats, it’s a quantity-versus-quality thing, and that’s not the case with Ross — he has both,” said MTV’s VP of Music & Talent Programming Strategy, Yomi Desalu. “Ross is out there putting in work.” Not only did Rozay drop his gold-selling, #1 Billboard album God Forgives, I Don’t, he also rallied his Maybach Music troops to release the compilation Self Made, Vol. 2. Of course, who can forget that he gave out a pair of mixtapes for free: Rich Forever, at the top of 2012, and the jacking-for-beats-style tape The Black Bar Mitzvah, in October. Combine all of that with a string of features on hit records like Usher’s “Lemme See” and French Montana’s “Pop That” and it becomes increasingly difficult to deny the MMG mastermind.
