In the midst of every subject brought up (including Papoose’s extreme hardheadedness and inability to listen) was the fact that Papoose used the term ‘aight’ when describing Jay-Z. Should people really give a shit? Make sure you support Papoose and go and get The Nacirema Dream, in stores now.

Tyler, The Creator Knew Frank Ocean Was Gay Because…

tumblr_m84ubdKDDw1qa42jro1_1280

“Yeah, I was one of the first people he told. I kinda knew, because he likes Pop Tarts without frosting on them, so I knew something was weird. [Laughs] But that’s my nigga.”

The above quote was taken from the latest issue of Rolling Stone, and in the feature, Tyler also address his use of a certain “gay slur”:

“He knows me, and he knows I don’t care about being gay. It’s just another word to me. The same as “nigga.” Let’s say Frank started using the word “fag,” just jokingly. People would be so fucking confused! They wouldn’t know what to do. And it could take the power out of that word.”

Project Pat – FADER TV Interview

Taken from FADER:

Project Pat is a hulking mass of a dude, who in person doesn’t look to have aged very much since he broke the scene in the late 90′s with “Ballers.” According to him, the secret of his youthful appearance is a very basic and oft-overlooked essential of tour life called self-restraint. This seems unlikely if not veritably un-possible when your brother and tourmate is king of the turn-up, Juicy J, but Pat has managed to stick around this long and make more great music while he’s done it. Sitting down with us after his recent NYC show, he gave us some insight into the two projects he has coming (one of which is the highly anticipated Mista Don’t Play 2), what he does in the rare instances that he gets back to Memphis and how his ultimate goal is just to please the people.

Progression is a beautiful thing…whether you think this was a good decision or not, Joie Manda has reportedly left the Jef Jam Presidency for his new position as President of Urban Music at Interscope Records. He did release a statement on the move as well:

“Despite having to move back to Los Angeles for personal reasons, I am truly grateful to Barry, John and Jimmy Iovine (Chairman & CEO, Interscope Geffen A&M) for this exciting new opportunity. I’ve learned a lot from Barry in the last year and am very appreciative of everything he has done for me. I am now looking forward to being part of the Interscope family, a company uniquely positioned for success despite this challenging marketplace.”

Lil Wayne & Rick Ross Banned From Radio Station?

Wayne-RossA small radio station in Michigan has decided to remove both Rick Ross and Lil Wayne from their playlists.

Both artists have been controversial in the past few months with lyrics from ranging from drugs to Emmett Till and, most recently, Rick Ross’ lyric that seems to advocate date rape.

WUVSIp 103.7 in Muskegon, Michigan issued the following statement.

“Many would say both rappers have taken their lyrical content too far and offended too many. The family and estate of [Emmett Till] have released a statement of disapproval over Lil Wayne’s disregard and disrespectful lyrics. Though his record label issued a statement of apology, the rapper has yet to do so. In the case of Rick Ross, a petition has been started over his blatant disregard for women and the issue of date rape. The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that over 300,000 women are raped or sexually assaulted per year in the United States alone. That is a disturbing number and should not be taken lightly. His lyrics not only condone the behavior, but he boasts about it in the song. While some feel it’s only entertainment, many feel it sends and encourages the wrong message. Several individuals and organizations have taken a stand and so are we. Effective immediately Muskegon’s WUVSlp 103.7 the Beat has pulled ALL Lil Wayne and Rick Ross music from rotation. We pride ourselves on playing music that is non-degrading and non-violent. While we believe in freedom of speech, creative writing and individualism, we refuse to be part of the problem by spreading messages that could harm or end someone’s life.”
