Police are treating a fire which broke out and destroyed an Islamic centre in London as “suspicious”, and are investigating the possibility of arson.
The letters EDL – which stands for English Defense League – were sprayed on the building, which was mostly used by the Somali community for children’s classes.
The EDL is a far right group which has led large protests in Britain in the aftermath of the killing of a soldier.
That murder in May raised fears of Islamaphobia as the main suspect claims to be a Muslim.
