L.A.M.P. (@AndyCompton & @LadyBirdParis1) – Springtime
I’m still not sure if I’ve figured out exactly what entails a Deep House record, but if I am correct, then I can safely say that the subgenre is officially all I’ve been listening to as of late. The below record (and the accompanying album, released 25th June) is a perfect example:
Bristol based producer Andy Compton has teamed up with Ladybird (from Paris) to make this timeless masterpiece, with the help of The Rurals in house musical team. Andy Compton is a well established name in the house/soul music scene, as well as being the frontman and producer of the group The Rurals. He has produced more than 20 albums to date. Ladybird is best know for her singing talents with her group Soldiers Of Twilight and her collab’s with Llorca. She recently released her solo album on PENG, produced by Andy Compton. Paying homage to their influences, L.A.M.P have handed over 13 songs of the purist music from the heart! With tinges of Jazz Funk, Acoustic Soul and Reggae.
Dornik (@DornikSpeaks) – Something About You
It’s said that Dornik used to tour with Jessie Ware as part of her band…..it won’t be long before he has one of his own (assuming he doesn’t already). This synthesizer-driven track is peak; this is the kind of soul I need to hear for 2013 and beyond (no gas). Check out Dornik’s latest below.

Syria Used Chemical Weapons On Rebels
According to USA Today:
U.S. and European officials have determined that the Syrian government has deployed chemical weapons against rebels, the White House has confirmed.
The White House notified lawmakers on Thursday that they have determined chemical weapons have been used.
The White House previously acknowledged that chemical weapons had been likely deployed, but they needed further confirmation. Obama had called thepotential use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar Assad a “red line” that would spur further action by the U.S.
The president “has said the use of chemical weapons would change his calculus and it has,” said Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.
The intelligence community estimates that 100 to 150 people have died from detected chemical weapons attacks in Syria to date, a small fraction of the more than 90,000 that have been killed in the two-year-old civil war. The U.S. assessment is based on laboratory analysis of physiological samples obtained from a number of individuals, which revealed exposure to sarin.

Nappy Roots – These Walls (Revisited) (Prod. Kanye West)
Vice President of Nappy Roots Entertainment Group, Jonathan Hay; “We’ve had this song with Kanye West for exactly ten years now. I’ve wanted to re-produce this song for a long time because I’ve always felt it was never done justice by us. I’m not saying this because I’m biased, but it has always been one of my favorite Kanye West tracks of all-time. It desperately needed to be revisited. I’m sure Kanye will be much happier with the song this time around.”
Ten years ago, superstar Kanye West was in the studio with the Grammy-nominated Nappy Roots for the follow up to their Atlantic Records debut Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz – one of the biggest selling rap albums of the year. West was producing a song for their next album and was in the studio to help them choose a track to write to and record. While listening to several of West’s productions, the group ran across an instrumental that immediately jumped out to them, but to their dismay, West told them that he already had plans for that song and he intended to keep that track for his own Roc-A-Fella Records debut album The College Dropout. The guys continued to press on about how much they wanted that particular song and tried to convince West to let them to use it on their album instead of “These Walls”, but West stuck to his guns. That track later became one of his career-defining singles “Jesus Walks”.
