Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Hit & Run
From TMZ:
Chris Brown just pled not guilty to the charge of hit-and-run, stemming from that minor car accident — which led to his probation getting revoked — TMZ has learned.
Since he wasn’t arrested on the day of the accident, Chris now has to go to a police station to get booked for the crime … which means he’ll have to take another mug shot. He has until August 6th to take care of that.
Chris’ next court date in the hit-and-run case is August 15.
As for his possible probation violation in the Rihanna beating case — the singer has to appear in court for a separate probation violation hearing in August.
As we reported, the judge revoked Chris’ probation in the wake of the hit-and-run charge … but he’s currently free on his own recognizance.
The remaining charges from the car accident — driving without a valid license and proof of insurance — were dismissed.

Amanda Bynes Placed On Psychiatric Hold After Setting Fire In Stranger’s Driveway
Taken from MTV, where you can read the full story:
Actress Amanda Bynes was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold by California sheriff’s deputies on Monday night after she set a small fire in a stranger’s driveway.
According to Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Bynes was “involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood last night in Thousand Oaks.” Fire officials responded shortly before 9 p.m. to a report of a gas can on fire in a driveway and after investigating the incident and speaking to Bynes, 27, they determined that she met the criteria for a 5150 psychiatric hold. The homeowners have said that they had no ties to the troubled former child star.
A 5150 order places an individual under a 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold, during which they are given a mental health evaluation. The order under the section of the California Welfare & Institutions Code allows for the involuntary hold when someone “make[s] statements that they’re either a danger to themselves or others, or gravely disabled.”
The same provision was used in 2008 on Britney Spears when the singer’s erratic behavior sparked concern from family and officials. Aguilar said no medical aid was rendered at the scene and at this time no criminal charges have been made against Bynes.

From England to the Caribbean to Paris, China and Australia — Mannion waxes poetic about the ever-shifting standards of beauty around the world as part of his role on Heineken’s #DROPPED council of advisors. For the discerning traveler, he recommends a twin lens film camera. Although digital is often faster and easier, equipment like Mannion’s Rolleiflex and more-affordable travel model can create something tangible for gift giving and reminiscing after a trip as well as earn respect abroad. In today’s fast-paced world, sometimes the analog still reigns supreme.
