Damn. From TMZ:

Drake and The Game are teaming up to help cover funeral costs for 6 people — including 5 young siblings — who died in a tragic house fire in Ohio … even though the rappers didn’t know the victims.

The Game got the ball rolling after learning about Anna Angel — who was working her shift at Burger King when a fire consumed her home while her 5 young children and her boyfriend were trapped inside. There were no survivors.

Game Instagram’d about the tragedy … saying, “I can deal with a lot of things but people losing their children is something that kills me every time.”

The Game — who recently pledged to donate $1 million dollars to people in need as part of his Robin Hood project — says he was on the phone with Drake when he read about the woman’s loss … and they each agreed to donate $10,000 to help Anna cover the burial costs.

Drake later posted about the situation … saying, “What [The Game] is doing will never be forgotten. Honored to be able to help people along side my brother.”

In addition to their $20K … the producers of Game’sTV show, “Marrying the Game” also pitched in $2,500.

@Madlib – One Hundred Beats

The good people over at Rappcats posted a story about the multitude of beats that the legendary Madlib has made. People are already calling for a legit release in the comments section.  I would be cool with that too, even though I have much higher than 100 Madlib tracks in my iTunes (through a quick search).  Anyways, I’ve included the original post below, as well as a few of my favorite Madlib joints below that.

Madlib makes beats. Hundreds of beats. Behind the scenes, these beats have been passed around to his collaborators on countless CD-R’s over the years. For a few years in the past decade Madlib was using a number system as titles. “One Hundred Beats” was an accurately-named set of raw, unfinished beats on a double-CD set, quickly followed by “Another Hundred Beats” on two more CDs. Other “hundreds” came in the months and years that followed, until other series titles took their place. These works in progress were backed up on hard drives, and just a few covers were made for posterity. These two photos come from the archives of J Rocc and Jeff Jank.

For those who have asked where to get these, the answer is that you probably already have them. One Hundred Beats and Another Hundred Beats provided much of the basis for the albums like Madvillainy by Madvillain, Champion Sound by Jaylib, A Lil’ Light by Dudley Perkins, and several other releases of the era.

Young Buck May Be Headed Out Of Bankruptcy

1031019-young-buck-getty-617

2014 looks to be a great year for Young Buck: he has recently dropped a “new” song, may be headed out of prison soon and — most importantly — looks to be headed out of bankruptcy as well. As reported by TMZ:

Rapper Young Buck is a new man … he’s about to emerge from bankruptcy with a clean slate … but creditor/good friend 50 Cent doesn’t even get 50 cents.

Get this … 50 had loaned Buck $300k, and there was an outstanding balance of $171,000. According to docs, obtained by TMZ, 50 will get zilch.

Ditto G-Unit Records. It had it’s hand out for $10 MILLION. Just like 50, G-Unit will end up with goose eggs.

Someone got lucky. Of course, it’s the lawyers, the bankruptcy trustee and Uncle Sam — they’ll split about $330k.

Ray J Reportedly Tried To Attack The Police For Making Jokes About Whitney Houston’s Dead Body

gty_whitney_houston_ray_j_jt_120212_wg

From TMZ:

Ray J went ballistic on cops after they allegedly made jokes about Whitney Houston’s dead body … TMZ has learned.

Ray J — who was romantically linked to Whitney in the months preceding her death — was outside the suite where she died as cops and paramedics did their thing inside. Sources familiar with the situation tell us … Ray J heard a “disrespectful comment” about Whitney followed by loud laughter, and it angered him so he tried to crash the room but he was restrained.

Our sources say Ray J went nuts a second time after hearing more laughter, and after another failed attempt to gain entry he was removed from the floor.

TMZ broke the story … the night Whitney died … someone connected to Whitney complained bitterly to family and others that an emergency responder was “talking trash” about Whitney’s body and that the responder had done something with a sheet.

Our information seems to give credence to a Beverly Hills cop who filed a complaint with the CA Labor Dept., claiming his sergeant pulled the sheet covering WH’s body below her pubic area and said, “Damn, she’s still looking good, huh?”

Law enforcement sources tell us the allegation is bogus and the cop never uttered a word about this to his superiors.

As for Ray J … we tried contacting him but were unsuccessful.
