Mexican star Canelo Alvarez came in at 152 pounds at the official pre-fight weigh-in Friday, delighting a rabid crowd of about 12,000 that packed the MGM Arena in Las Vegas to watch. Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather weighed in at 150½.
“They wanted me to go to 147,” Alvarez said earlier this week when he said he was already down to 154 pounds. “I said that was physically impossible. Then they wanted 150 and then 151. I wanted to make the fight, so I agreed to 152. Then they forced me to be quiet about it.”
Weight is always a big deal in fights, and it is center stage again in one of the biggest showdowns in recent years. Saturday night’s megafight is officially for a version of the 154-pound title held by Alvarez, but will be fought at a catch weight of 152 pounds that was harder for Alvarez to make than it was for Mayweather.
“They’re the ones who said they would fight at a lower weight,” said Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather’s manager. “We can’t help it Alvarez has idiots for managers, but we’re going to take every advantage they give us.”
Alvarez has been a full-fledged junior middleweight for more than three years now. He’s physically bigger at 5-foot-9 than Mayweather and has had to lose good amounts of weight in the final days in some of his recent fights just to get to the 154-pound class limit.
Getting an advantage is nothing new to Mayweather. He does it in the ring with his tremendous skills to adapt, and he does it outside the ring by playing with his opponent’s mind. For Mayweather, making Alvarez think constantly in training about making 152 pounds may have been more important than the actual weight itself.
“There’s a thousand different ways I can beat a guy,” Mayweather said.

According to Deck, Drizzy does not pay homage or make the record a real tribute to the Wu.
“After listening to the @Drake song, I agree with u… It is in no form a tribute to WU and SHOULD NOT wear the title Wutang Forever!,” Deck tweeted September 13.
“I am not switching up.. My tweet earlier stated without previously hearing the song I thought it was a tribute and saw that as respect.”

These are the horrendous injuries a thug inflicted on a teenage girl after battering her with a champagne bottle – because she refused to dance with him.
Nineteen-year-old Monique Henville was out drinking with friends in a nightclub when she was approached by man who wanted to talk to her.
When she refused to speak to him, he poured champagne over her head, but Monique continued to ignore him.
But the violent yob would not take no for an answer, and smashed the bottle of champagne he was drinking across the young woman’s face.
The force of the blow shattered her teeth and jaw leaving her needing five hours of reconstructive surgery, and police have now released an image of their suspect for the 1.45am assault on Saturday, July 20, in the Ballare club in Cambridge.
Monique said: “There was a big chunk out of one side of my jaw and the other side was shattered.
“I had two operations and they had to put a plate in and bolts and a wire for my teeth.
“I couldn’t speak and I couldn’t eat for six weeks and I am not being funny but I love my food.
“I was lucky there are no permanent scars but I have to have a plate in for the rest of my life. I just want the police to catch him before he does it again. It was so scary.
“I don’t go out anymore because of what happened. It is too scary.”
PC Fergus Cowley said: “This was an unprovoked attack that left the victim needing surgery to her face.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Waitress Posts Racist Reciept From Red Lobster (Then Gets Suspended); Red Lobster Responds

A server working at a Red Lobster restaurant in an affluent suburb of Nashville, Tennessee claims she was subjected to a racist jibe after customers allegedly left the words ‘none ni**er’ in the tip section of the check.
Toni Christina Jenkins, who is 19, was in the middle of her shift at the seafood restaurant in Franklin and serving a couple of customers who racked up a $45 bill during their afternoon meal.
When the time came to pay the check, Miss Jenkins, who is training to be a nurse, says she found the racist insult written on the couple’s receipt.
‘This is what I got as a tip last night…so happy to live in the proud southern states..God Bless America, land of the free and home of the low class racists of Tennessee,’ wrote Miss Jenkins on her Facebook page.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Miss Jenkins said that she would never hold a grudge or fake a receipt simply for not receiving a tip. ‘I don’t get tips all the time. I really don’t care cause God is my provider I don’t worry about tips.’
Miss Jenkins described the few minutes on Saturday afternoon as she served the couple who left the racist receipt as particularly strange.
‘They were extremely rude, but I introduced myself to them and they didn’t respond. When I came to take their orderm they simply told me they wanted their food and to put everything in a to-go box. I offered them dessert but they told me abruptly that they just wanted the check.’
‘When I went back to the table they had gone and left the receipt and had written the comments.’
The couple were said to be a man and woman in their 20s.
Following this, she was suspended. Also, Red Lobster has since spoken on the matter as well. From Addicting Info:
We just reported on how a waitress, Tori Christina Jenkins, received ‘None, N****r’ instead of a tip this past weekend from racist customers at the Franklin, TN Red Lobster where she works. Now, instead of standing behind Jenkins, Red Lobster has suspended her, citing a violation of company policy as the reason.
A spokesman for Red Lobster, Mike Bernstein, said in an email to the Huffington Post that suspension with pay is “standard procedure” when company policy is violated. In this case, the violation would be publicly posting a receipt, which Jenkins’ father did, on Facebook, Sunday night, with a status message saying “that we still have much ignorance to overcome.”
Bernstein went on to write:
“We take this extremely seriously. This kind of language is completely disgusting and has no place in our restaurant or anywhere else, and we are committed to getting to the bottom of what happened as quickly as possible.”
He also said that Red Lobster is “extremely disturbed” by the message.

A$AP Rocky won’t be getting wild for the night at a music festival in Canada — the event organizers just canned the rapper over his alleged fan-slapping ways.
TMZ broke the story — A$AP was charged with criminal battery last week for allegedly slapping a fan during a Philadelphia concert … and the victim wants his ass punished in court.
AR was scheduled to perform at York University next Wednesday in Toronto — but the school’s student federation has now pulled the plug saying, “the event cannot proceed until this matter is resolved.”
The organizers added … their decision to boot A$AP does NOT mean they think he’s guilty of getting slaphappy.
The alleged victim Lisa Wade called in to TMZ Live last week — and said the slapping was no accident.

We grabbed our mattresses from our parents threw it in our friends shitty van and left one weekend and never came back home. It was gonna be the title of HOB. I hated my name at the time though so I tried it as a stage name. It sounded cool. I took out the “e” because there was already a canadian band named the weekend (copyright issues).
