Jon Connor Signs To Aftermath Records
Those that attended this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards witnessed some dope freestyles, one of which was by none other than Flint, MI’s Jon Connor.
During his part of the cypher, he revealed that he has indeed signed with the house that Dr. Dre built; this shouldn’t be much of a surprise, either, as we have already seen the two in the studio (above).
Congrats to Jon Connor.
Goodwill Fires Employee For Giving Poor Customers Discounts
Spotted on the Daily Mail:
Goodwill will not press charges against a teen employee who illegally gave out discounts to poor customers, it said in a statement on Friday.
Florida teenager Andrew Anderson, 19, was arrested on Tuesday by Collier County police for giving away discounts to customers he believed were in need at an East Naples store.
‘People would come in on bicycles — wearing all of the clothes they had, coming in with $2, $3 max,’ he told NBC2. ‘I wasn’t actually stealing. Goodwill is a giving and helping company, so I took it upon myself to be giving and helping because I feel people deserve it.’
Store officials fired Anderson and reported the incident to the authorities, CBS News reports. He was initially arrested and charged with grand theft.
Police reports reveal that he was bailed out for $5,000.
‘The suspect advised us that he never received any money himself,’ Officer Chris Marotta told ABC News. ‘[He] was cooperative and unapologetic. He admitted to the above actions and wishes to repay the store.’
Goodwill estimates that Anderson cost the store $4,000, ABC says.
Goodwill later released an official statement, dropping its request to have Anderson charged. His termination, however, remains in effect.
‘We have determined that the individual’s actions were not for personal gain, but rather for the benefit of others. Because this is a violation of our policy, we recognize that the former employee’s termination is an appropriate action but we are not pursuing criminal charges,’ the statement says.
Attorney Jerry Berry took Anderson’s case pro-bono.
‘To call [Anderson] a criminal is wrong,’ he told NBC2. Berry hopes that the charges will be dropped.

50 Dead In Nigerian College Attack: “Students Shot Dead As They Slept” (Video)
From BBC, where you can read more on the story:
Suspected Islamist gunmen have attacked a college in north-eastern Nigeria, killing up to 50 students.
The students were shot dead as they slept in their dormitory at the College of Agriculture in Yobe state.
North-eastern Nigeria is under a state of emergency amid an Islamist insurgency by the Boko Haram group.
Boko Haram is fighting to overthrow Nigeria’s government to create an Islamic state, and has launched a number of attacks on schools.
Casualty figures from the latest attack vary, but a local politician told the BBC that around 50 students had been killed.
The politician said two vanloads of bodies had been taken to a hospital in Yobe’s state capital, Damaturu.
A witness quoted by Reuters news agency counted 40 bodies at the hospital, mostly those of young men believed to be students.
College provost Molima Idi Mato, speaking to Associated Press, also said the number of dead could be as high as 50, adding that security forces were still recovering the bodies and that about 1,000 students had fled the campus.
A Nigerian military source told AP that soldiers had collected 42 bodies.
The gunmen also set fire to classrooms, a military spokesman in Yobe state, Lazarus Eli, told Agence France-Presse.
The college is in the rural Gujba district.

Banks – This is What it Feels Like (Video)
Courtesy of Noisey:
Understatement is a greatly underutilized tool and BANKS knows its power. Noisey’s first taste of BANKS’ minimalist mastery came at the top of this year with “Before I Ever Met You.” Raw, sultry, and seductively delivered, it marked LA-born BANKS out as an intriguing talent. Cut to six months later and we’re super excited to be premiering her new video for “This is What it Feels Like,” a phenomenal, duskily atmospheric tune lifted from her current EP, ‘London,’ it’s also the first BANKS video shot in color.
