Alicia Keys, Pharrell & Kendrick Lamar Team Up With Hans Zimmer For ‘Spiderman 2’ Track

From MTV:

Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar have teamed up for the lead track from the upcoming “Spider-Man 2” soundtrack. The song, “It’s On Again,” was written by Pharrell Williams, Keys, K-Dot and film scorer Hans Zimmer.

“I’m very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer,” Keys said in a statement about the album, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, due out on April 22. “This is the next chapter in the ‘Spider-Man’ legacy and we really feel ‘It’s On Again’ captures the experience, the story — and most importantly — the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary. There’s a little bit of a super hero in all of us.”

Director Marc Webb said he was looking for the perfect song to close the film, one that would be “upbeat and exciting,” but with just a hint of foreboding. “Alicia’s song, ‘It’s On Again,’ is the perfect end note,” he said.

Webb also praised the score created by Zimmer and the Magnificent Six, which includes Pharrell, Incubus’ Mike Einzinger, ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Junkie XL, Andrew Kawczynski and Steve Mazzaro. “Every director wants his movie to have a unique sound, but this is beyond unique,” he said of the score. “It’s completely unlike any movie score that’s come before.”

The album will also feature new music from the Neighbourhood, Pharrell, Alvin Risk and LIZ, as well as Phosphorescent’s previously released “Song for Zula.”

Vybz Kartel Found Guilty Of Murder

Random additional clip above: Busta Rhymes was in Jamaica for Vybz Kartel’s murder trail. Ah well…from the Jamaican Gleaner:

Dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused have been found guilty of the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams marking the end to a keenly watched trial that has lasted for 65 days.

The eleven-member jury began deliberating at 3:45 p.m.

Initially, the eleven-member jury deliberated for 1 hour and 53 minutes before returning a 10-1 verdict.

They were sent back to reconsider because the verdict was not unanimous and was reached under two hours.

The jurors then went back to consider the matter before again returning to the courtroom.

Shane Williams – Not GUILTY
Andre St John – GUILTY
Kartel, 38, whose real name is Adidja Palmer and his co-accused went on trial on November 20 in the Home Circuit Court.

They had been in custody since September 2011.

They were charged with the murder of 27-year-old Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, of Waterford, St Catherine.

The Crown represented by senior deputy director of public prosecutions, Jeremy Taylor, and Crown Counsel Leighton Morris alleged that on August 16, 2011 ‘Lizard’ was beaten to death at Kartel’s house at 7 Swallowfield Avenue, Havendale, St Andrew over two missing guns.

The prosecution relied on circumstantial evidence and common design to prove its case against the men.

Those found guilty are to return to court for sentencing on March 27.

Kartel and five other men had been charged with William’s murder, but at the start of the trial in November last year, the fifth co-accused, fashion designer, Calvin Haye, was freed after the Crown offered no evidence against him.

Suge Knight’s Ex Has Written A Tell-All Book…

suge-knight-stormey-ramdhan

So Suge Knight is the next Hip-Hop participant up for a novel exposé thanks to a woman that was probably supposed to be his true confident as a wife fiancée….

Stormey Ramdhan’s My Life With Knight: The Woman Behind The Most Feared Man In Hip-Hop breaks down the two decades that she spent around Suge Knight during his rise and heyday, and she apparently has some strong opinions on how Suge ran Death Row, how he treated those around him, the death of Mr. Shakur and more.

You can check out the book’s cover above, as well as a promo video and a teaser excerpt below. Will you be looking to read this?

It’s the summer of 1993; as a recent graduate of Crenshaw High School and at a point I was looking forward to leaving for North Carolina on scholarship, you could not have told me that my life would have changed before that even happened …

It’s just getting dark and he didn’t call yet. I’m in the front room of the house on Cadillac Boulevard watching TV with my little brother Alfey when the phone rings, it’s him! Suge wanted to know my address; I told him I’m off Cadillac and Robertson. It took him 10 to 15 minutes to get there. He pulled up in a new Black Mercedes SL 500 convertible with the top down, blasting music… Suge’s homeboy, Heron was in the passenger seat. So I thought, “That’s who went in my place,” but I couldn’t get mad; we had just met several hours earlier. To my surprise Suge was a total gentleman, I invited him in my house, my little brother Alfey greeted him at the door, while my mom Patty yells from the kitchen, “Who is at the door?” I reply “Mommy it’s my friend Suge.”

STILL MISSING: What Is Known About Malaysian Flight MH370 So Far

nly

This really is something straight out of cinema….or an Amelia Earheart playbook. From BBC, where you can read a lot more on what’s going on:

A Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing went missing late on Friday, with 239 passengers and crew on board.

But that, so far, is all anyone knows for sure about flight MH370.

In a hyper-connected age where we are constantly tracked, the void feels more like a mystery from an earlier era of aviation than something happening to one of the world’s biggest airlines flying a busy route in 2014, and has prompted much speculation about its fate.

There were 227 passengers, including 153 Chinese and 38 Malaysians, according to the manifest. Seven were children. All 12 crew members were Malaysian.

Among the Chinese nationals were a delegation of 19 prominent artists who had attended an exhibition in Kuala Lumpur.

With so many of their nationals aboard, the Chinese government has been very involved in the search, expressing barely-concealed frustration with the lack of progress. On Thursday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang told reporters in Beijing that he would like to see better co-ordination among the countries involved, as passengers’ families and friends “are burning with anxiety”.

Two Iranian men were travelling on stolen passports, Interpol said in a statement. They are believed to have been en route to Europe via Beijing.

Malaysian police named one as 19-year-old Pouria Nour Mohammad Mehrdad. Interpol identified the other as Delavar Seyed Mohammadreza, 29. There were no apparent links to terrorist groups, officials said.

Initially, national police chief Khalid Abu Bakar denied a statement by the aviation chief that there were five passengers who checked-in for the flight but did not board. Malaysia Airlines later clarified there had been four passengers who did not show up at the airport for the flight.

Floyd Mayweather & His Goons Reportedly Beat The Breaks Off His Former Employees For Stealing Jewelry

Floyd-mayweather-michigan-state-bed-rose-bowl

From TMZ:

Floyd Mayweather allegedly orchestrated a savage attack on two of his employees he suspected of stealing his jewelry … TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Sports … the two men had been hired to work on Floyd’s Vegas homes … but when jewelry went missing, Floyd pointed the finger at them.

We’re told the men claim they were contacted several weeks ago and instructed to meet Floyd at an off-site location.

When the men arrived, they claim Floyd was waiting for them — along with a number of his “people” —  who proceeded to beat the living crap out of them with various weapons, including clubs.

Our sources say the attack was so brutal the men could have easily died.  Both men had broken arms and legs and were hospitalized for several days.

One source put it this way, “It was some ‘Breaking Bad’ s**t.”

We’re told the men are adamant they never took anything from Floyd and it appears Floyd realizes that now.  But here’s the problem for the champ — sources familiar with the situation say the attack amounts to attempted murder, mayhem and kidnapping.  We’re told the men have retained a lawyer.

We reached out to Floyd’s people for comment — so far, no word back.
