Black Women Furious At Juicy J’s $50K Twerkin’ Scholarship

Eurweb Reports:

It has been confirmed that rapper Juicy J (Three 6 Mafia) is offering a $50K scholarship to the winner of a … wait for it … twerkin’ contest.

No, this is not a typo.

Fifty thousand big ones will be handed over to the best, ugh, “twerker” and as you may have guessed, this is not going over too well with what we think may turn out to be many of the female persuasion.

Seeka tha Teacha, head of the Hip Hop Liberation Army along with colleagues Abena Afreeka and Sis Tricey are too pissed off and are calling for a boycott of the rapper’s CD. Appearing on the weekly rap program, “Militant Minded Radio,” they presented a lively discussion on this display of what can be called a byproduct of misogynistic thinking. We ask for your forgiveness in advance as the speaker’s did not identify themselves so we had to play a guessing game.

“There’s no honor in getting a scholarship for shaking your behind….I think its degrading,” says one of the women we think may be Seeka Tha Teacha, a mother. “Why would you want to get a scholarship for that when there’s a lot of intelligent women out here who use their brain. Why don’t you give them some money,” she continues, adding that she would never want her daughter doing anything like that.

“I know Juicy J [is] probably sittin’ back laughing at all the women that’s gonna come and shake they ass for this money. It’s all a game,” she continues.

“I think that this contest is only symptomatic, and that any discussion about this that ignores the larger picture of the systematic sexploitation, objectification of Black women is basically an incomplete discussion,” says Sis Tricey. She equates Juicy J to someone who is “embracing that cooning buck,” a brother who will promote “the exploitation of himself, his sisters and brothers” for money.

“You can think of the situation…when the 12-year-old sits up and tells his math teacher, ‘I make more in a day then you make in a whole year,” she concludes.

And apparently, the scholarship is only the beginning; a CD is set to follow.

“Is this going to be a trend?” Sis Tricey suggests adding a truly frightening scenario. “Are we going to have more rappers throwing in and saying ‘hey, we’re doing some positive things for the school.’ How many sisters will even want to continue to go to school once they get a taste of that.”

Abeena Afreeka states, ”As women, for starters, I believe it is imperative for us to come out in strong opposition to the CD, to the message, and begin to actively get in the ears of our young sisteren [sic].” She invites not only women, but men as well, to join in with this support against the degradation of Black women; by boycotting the Juicy J CD and the message behind it.

Lamar Odom Isn’t The Only NBA Drug User (Details)

0828-nba-drug-use-article-3TMZ Reports :

Multiple NBA-connected sources tell TMZ … the big problem is that the league is only allowed to test players 4 times during a season. Because testing is randomized, the last test can be administered as early as January, and the season lasts for months thereafter. As one recently-retired NBA player put it, after the 4th test, “It’s like Christmas Day. We can take whatever we want.”

One NBA-connected source says pot is “ubiquitous” in the sport. The source adds, however, that most athletes who indulge do so in moderation so it doesn’t have a perceptible impact on their performance. An NBA rep tells us … weed is not only prevalent, it’s hardly hidden — he says the hotel rooms where the players stay, and even the halls, have the telltale smell.

The players we’ve spoken with all agree … pot is prevalent. But some of the players say Lean — Sprite and Codeine cough syrup — has become a recreational drug of choice during the season. One player said it was even used during the recent playoffs.

One current and famous player tells TMZ, he estimates 30% of his fellow NBAers use hard drugs — including Molly, Ecstasy, and Lean — at some point during the season. He says he’s never been aware of anyone doing cocaine during the season.

Another current and famous player tells us he estimates only 10% of NBA players use hard drugs, and no one uses cocaine during the season — it’s too risky. He also says Lean is a drug of choice.

An NBA source agrees — he estimates 10-15% of the players use hard drugs during the season.

One NBA insider believes the drug use problem has gotten better over the last 5 years because of social media. He says players have been burned because pictures of them doing things they shouldn’t be show up on Instagram and Facebook, and it’s inhibited them.

Kylie Jenner Involved In Her First Car Accident

Kylie-Jenner-throws-official-Sweet-16-party-Drake-makes-surpise-appearanceTMZ Reports:

She’s only been on the road for 18 days, but Kylie Jenner already has a 3-car chain reaction collision under her belt … TMZ has learned.

16-year-old Kylie — driving her brand new $125k Mercedes SUV — was driving in Calabasas yesterday around 5pm when she slammed into the back of a Toyota, which slammed into the back of a Subaru SUV.

The Toyota suffered major damage to the back-end of the car (you can see the back bumper stuck in Kylie’s front grille). The Subaru also suffered bumper damage.

We spoke to a witness who says Kylie immediately got out of her car — apologized — and asked if everyone was OK.  She eventually exchanged info with the other drivers and left.

Cops arrived to the scene a short time later, but Kylie was already gone.

We’re told it didn’t appear anyone suffered any serious injuries … and everyone involved in the crash acted very cordial toward each other.

Kylie turned 16 on August 10 … and was first spotted behind the wheel of the SUV at her Sweet 16 party on August 17.

Hopefully, the Jenner family has good insurance …

This is where you must support good music: Young Don has released a new mixtape — the 2nd volume in his Weatherman series, hosted by DJ Khaled — which is available for purchase on iTunes. Given what he’s blessed us with for free, the record should not disappoint (it doesn’t, in my opinion). Download link and tracklisting below.

Phoebe Ray (@phoeberaymusic) – Drops Of Bliss (Video)

The first thing that hits you about Phoebe Ray is her naturally flawless vocal. Then you realise she’s been writing songs since she was sixteen. Since finishing her degree last year, she immediately won over DJ Chris Evans who gushed “She’s got the voice of an angel and the talent of anyone you care to mention.”

The fact that she’s a classically trained singer (she reached Grade 8) collides perfectly with the fact that her feature on dubstep producer Draper’s ‘Nightrider’ has received over 380K views on YouTube.

Her debut release ‘Drops of Bliss’ is an apt platform for her to showcase her rich, haunting voice, as the song tumbles into an eclectic sound that picks out her rich, addictive vocals and kicks through to a killer beat which shows Phoebe’s ability to be able to turn the track up to another level.

Having already performed in Paris, Provence and London’s Natural History Museum, Phoebe seems ready to leave a striking impression on the rest of the music industry with her sheer quality and versatility.
