A deranged, suicidal man ranting against the government used two knives to saw at his wrists outside the “Today” show Thursday morning.
The man was unkempt and in his 50s, witnesses said. He wore a grey T-shirt and white baseball cap when he staggered up to “Today” show fans outside 10 Rockefeller Plaza in midtown Manhattan and used broken English to tell anyone who would listen that the Internal Revenue Service was corrupt and that the agency “ruined his life.”
Witnesses said the man was ranting about the IRS and tossed a stack of papers in the air before cutting himself.
The lunatic was shouting about peppermint tea and trying to get bystanders to read a pile of papers — reportedly IRS documents of some sort — until he tossed the stack into the air about 7:50 a.m.
He then whipped out a pocket knife with three or four-inch blade and yelled “I’m going to cut myself!” twice before hacking at his own wrist.Security guards tackled the man, who could be seen bleeding beneath a partition outside the studio.
Someone wrestled the blade from the loony before he pulled out a second knife and started cutting away at his other wrist. NYPD cops and plaza security guards rushed towards the man with pepper-spray and tackled him, sending him sprawling.
“It happened really fast — and then he was down,” said 21-year-old Jossie Edwards, a tourist from Easley, S.C.
Woman Has Dogs Attack Nosey News Reporter On Camera
An ABC6 crew was on assignment in Providence when they were assaulted in broad daylight. It started with a simple question that led to a violent response. The crew was on Public Street in Providence, attempting to get reaction from the mother of the teenage girl who was shot at a graduation party over the weekend.
Instead of declining to speak on-camera, Melissa Lawrence replied “OK, that’s good,” and then suddenly hurled a rock at ABC6 photographer Marc Jackson. The rock just missed the photographer’s head. The crew then started to leave, but Lawrence came out wielding a baseball bat. She then told her two dogs to attack.
Probably needless to say, the woman in question was later arrested.

@Lone – Airglow Fires
Nottingham/Manchester producer Lone drops his latest — ‘Airglow Fires’ — which caught my attention because of the traces of neo-soul/nostalgic-sounding Hip-Hop that’s located in this piece of work. Out 8th July (vinyl).

Q-Tip Lectures At The Red Bull Music Academy
Q-Tip is one of hip hop’s greatest MCs and producers. As a member of A Tribe Called Quest, he helped to shape the sound of hip hop throughout the ’90s. The group’s exceptional run of full-lengths became a blueprint for MCs looking to balance the literate and the absurd, as well as producers searching for the perfect (and unexpected) break—Tribe’s influence is pretty much unmatched in hip hop circles. Since Tribe’s split in 1998, Q-Tip has kept busy with a solo career that has included four albums as well as countless productions and guest appearances in places both expected (Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, and Jay-Z) and improbable (Chemical Brothers, R.E.M.). He has also honed his DJ chops, spinning regularly in New York City and beyond.

Paris Jackson Taken To Hospital After Attempting Suicide
UPDATE: Paris Jackson left a suicide note and then cut her arm with a meat cleaver … TMZ has learned.
Sources with an intimate knowledge of the situation tell TMZ … Michael Jackson’s daughter called a suicide hotline and the person on the other end was alarmed enough to call 911.
Our sources say in addition to cutting her right forearm, Paris had taken a large number of Motrin pills.
We’re told once Paris was taken by stretcher to an ambulance and then transported to a nearby hospital, she was placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours.
She received “numerous stitches” for the cut.
As for the suicide note … we do not know what she wrote. – TMZ
****************************************
The pressure of having to testify in the high-stakes legal showdown over Michael Jackson’s death drove Paris Jackson to attempt suicide, a source close to the family told the Daily News.
The King of Pop’s only daughter is due to take the stand by the end of the month in the wrongful death lawsuit pitting the Jackson family against the promoter of his doomed run of concerts, AEG. But the worldwide attention and the millions of dollars on the line were too much for the 15-year-old Jackson, a source said.
“She’s just a wreck. She was getting more and more emotional about having to take the stand as the day gets closer,” the source told The News. “This is a plea for help. She is broken.”
