L.A. Leakers (DJ Sourmilk & Justin Credible) – OnSMASH Interview

We had the privilege of visiting the Power 106 studios to speak to the world renown LA Leakers recently, and got the scoop on their background story and why they love representing LA to the fullest through remixes and putting people on to what’s going on out West through clubs, the radio or on their blog. The duo of DJ Sourmilk and Justin Credible have been taking over the airwaves and the Internet more and more over the past few years, conquering the best of both worlds in their own way.

In our conversation with them, they speak on the difference between the online world and radio world, what artists in LA we should be checking for, and how they both got their start DJ’ing (how Sourmilk got his name, too). They also have a public service announcement for everyone who gets mad at their LA Leaker tags on songs, and urge fans to buy the artists music if they support them. “Have a little dignity when you’re stealing music!!”

Get know DJ Sourmilk and Justin Credible through the interview above and stay tuned for their Leaks Of The Industry mixtape, dropping June 3, 2013.

Toronto Mayor Smoking Crack ON Camera?

rob_ford_1.jpg.size.xxlarge.promo

From The Star:

A cellphone video that appears to show Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine is being shopped around Toronto by a group of Somali men involved in the drug trade.

Two Toronto Star reporters have viewed the video three times. It appears to show Ford in a room, sitting in a chair, wearing a white shirt, top buttons open, inhaling from what appears to be a glass crack pipe. Ford is incoherent, trading jibes with an off-camera speaker who goads the clearly impaired mayor by raising topics including Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and the Don Bosco high school football team Ford coaches.

“I’m f—ing right-wing,” Ford appears to mutter at one point. “Everyone expects me to be right-wing. I’m just supposed to be this great.…” and his voice trails off. At another point he is heard calling Trudeau a “fag.” Later in the 90-second video he is asked about the football team and he appears to say (though he is mumbling), “they are just f—ing minorities.”

The Star had no way to verify the authenticity of the video, which appears to clearly show Ford in a well-lit room. The Star was told the video was shot during the past winter at a house south of Dixon Rd. and Kipling Avenue. What follows is an account based on what both reporters viewed on the video screen. Attempts to reach the mayor and members of his staff to get comment on this story were unsuccessful.
How can you indicate what the person is actually doing or smoking?

A lawyer retained by Ford, Dennis Morris, said that Thursday evening’s publication by the U.S.-based Gawker website of some details related to the video was “false and defamatory.” Morris told the Star that by viewing any video it is impossible to tell what a person is doing. “How can you indicate what the person is actually doing or smoking?” Morris said.

Rihanna To Sue Topshop For £3 Million

Regent Street Window Project where architects in partnership wit

From Daily Mail:

Rihanna is threatening to sue Topshop after claiming they sold T-shirts with her face on it without asking permission.

The superstar’s team is said to have told the high street clothing chain run by billionaire Sir Phillip Green to stop selling them, and is reported to be asking for £3million in compensation at the High Court.

The legal threat comes despite the What’s My Name singer having dined with Sir Philip and music mogul Simon Cowell while on her Christmas break to Barbados in 2010.

The star, who last year signed a deal worth a rumoured £800,000 to design a range with High Street rival River Island, tweeted about the Boxing Day meal they had together, saying: ‘Just had dinner w/ Simon Cowell Philip Green @ Sandy Lane! Great night!’

She has also spent time with Sir Philip’s daughter Chloe while holidaying at the same time in the Caribbean two years ago.

It was even rumoured she might follow in the footsteps of Kate Moss and design a range for Topshop, but the two parties could now face each other in court.

Last year Topshop released a T-shirt featuring a picture of Rihanna from her ‘We Found Love’ music video, which sold out quickly afterwards.

It is understood this is the garment at the centre of the row.

In Britain companies could argue that by buying the image from the photographer, they do not have to pay licensing fees to the star pictured.
