No I.D. Appointed To Def Jam Executive VP

From Roc4Life:

Here’s one that got drowned out in all the VMA chatter. No I.D. has assumed a new position as the executive Vice-President of Def Jam Records. The Roc Nation producer and Kanye mentor talked about his new role at a pre-VMA bowling mixer.

“I’m (now) executive VP of Def Jam,” the Chicago native announced. “I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing and take it to another level.”

No I.D., fondly known as the “Godfather of Chicago hip-hop,” has crafted hits for Common (“I Used to Love H.E.R.”), Jay-Z (“D.O.A.,” “Run This Town”), Rihanna, and others. Though he hopes to keep the hits coming, his new focus is to help Def Jam find new talent.

“Def Jam is a cultural staple,” No I.D. said. “It’s not just a label, it’s part of the culture that I came up in and that I’ve been involved with for 20 years. It’s very important that the next generation of executives grab it by the horns and keep it on track as it grows.”

Congratulations are in order.

Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose Making Music

Altough Wiz is busy working on his next album, he still has time for girl Amber. On the VMA red carpet, Amber Rose, tells Billboard that they are working on some music.

“We’re working on some music for me, yeah. It’s going to be mysterious. It’s going to be very mysterious. You may not even know it’s me. We might just throw it out there, might give it out and see what’s up”
