Flo Rida Gets Arrested For DUI

Rapper Flo Rida — the guy behind the smash hit, “Low” — was busted for drunk driving in Miami Beach this morning in one of the most expensive cars in the planet!!!!
Law enforcement sources say … Flo Rida was driving around in his red and black Bugatti — valued around $1.7 million — when cops observed the rapper swerving in his lane and pulled him over around 3:30 AM.
During the stop, cops detected the odor of alcohol — so Flo was given a field sobriety test … and didn’t perform very well.
Flo — real name Tramar Dillard — was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to a nearby station where he is currently being booked. Sources tell us Flo’s blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.

Beyonce Speaks on 4 Leak

‘Beyoncé is taking a glass-half-full approach to the leak of her entire 4 album three weeks before its June 28 release date.

In a statement released to MTV News on Wednesday (June 8), Beyoncé lamented the early arrival but said she’s making the most of the eagerness of her fans to get their hands on her first new batch of songs since 2008’s double-disc I Am … Sasha Fierce.

“My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans,” the singer wrote. “When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat. I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs.”

Beyoncé fans were psyched Tuesday when her collabo with Andre 3000, “Party,” leaked weeks before the new album was due. It was one of several leaks the album has faced over the past week. A short time after the Kanye West and Consequence-produced “Party” slipped out, another song, “Countdown,” which samples the Boyz II Men tune “Uhh Ahh,” also surfaced, followed by the entire album.

While B’s team scrambles to take down the offending links that have popped up all over the Web, some online rogues have taken to Twitter to put up links, making it harder for the label to track down the music. Fans have already gotten a number of listens to tunes from the disc, including the uptempo dancehall first single “Run the World (Girls),” the lush ballad “1+1” and the second official single “Best Thing I Never Had.” Another tune, “End of Time,” which samples late Afrobeat superstar Fela Kuti, has also leaked online.

Good Luck Ja Rule

This morning, Ja Rule has signed up to be the newest resident of New York’s infamous Rikers Island Penitentiary.
Mr. Rule will report to the New York State Department of Correctional Services today to begin the mandatory jail sentence he agreed to when he pleaded guilty to gun possession charges back in December. Ja Rule’s arrest took place on the same night that Lil Wayne was arrested on a gun charge, which sent Lil Tunechi to jail for eight months last year. The two rappers had performed together that night in Wayne‘s first major show in New York.
Luckily for Rule, he probably won’t be spending his whole sentence at Rikers. He plans transfer to a facility in Upstate New York soon. Back in March, an NY judge gave the Murder Inc. star eight months to finish his album “Pain Is Love 2″. His first single “Real Life Fantasy” drops this summer.

Common, DOOM, Killah Priest and Boy Jones have been added to the ROCK THE BELLS 2011 FESTIVAL SERIES–presented by Boost Mobile in association with GUERILLA UNION and powered by BlackBerry. The festival will head to four major North American markets this summer, kicking off on August 20 in Los Angeles.
The festival will feature seminal hip-hop artists performing their classic albums, a tradition started last year. Nas, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Cypress Hill are among those confirmed to perform full album sets. New line-up addition Common will perform his Kanye West-produced 2005 breakthrough album Be in select markets and Wu Tang Clan associate Killah Priest will perform 1998 release Heavy Mental. Previously announced co-headliner Erykah Badu will also perform her debut album Baduizm.

Undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. will take on the welterweight champion Victor Ortiz on Sept 17, 2011! Details of pay-per-view site and location haven’t been finalized yet. Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs), 24, moved up (from junior welterweight) and claimed the welterweight title belt in April with a score-card win over Andre Berto. Ortiz was also the 2008 ESPN.com prospect of the year. Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO’s), 34, is a great fighter at going the distance, so it will be an interesting full length fight. “I am ready to return to the ring and give my fans a fantastic night of boxing by fighting the best out there and for me, that is Victor Ortiz,” Mayweather said. “He is the current champion and an extremely talented fighter who showed amazing skills, and heart, in his last performance against Andre Berto.”

“At this stage of my career, these are the challenges I look for, a young, strong, rising star looking to make his mark in boxing by beating me. Like the rest of my opponents, he is going to try to prove that he can beat me. I commend him for accepting the fight, but on Sept. 17, Ortiz is just going to be another casualty, the 42nd one who tried and failed. Trust me, I will be ready.”

“I respect Mayweather because he has been a champion for many years and I know he will be ready, but so will I,” Ortiz said. “I’m a strong fighter and I have worked really hard to silence my critics.
