Nick Minaj Covers KING (March/April 2011)

King finally got the queen of hip-hop, as she will pose for the magazine’s March/April issue. An except from the issue below:

KING: History has shown that acting is the likeliest transition for rappers. Considering your background, do you want to dabble in Hollywood?
NICKI MINAJ: Of course.

What would be your dream role?
I’d like to play someone in a Tim Burton movie, where I get dressed up and painted and crazy.

You kind of do that now.
Then I want to be able to do some action stuff, like Angelina Jolie.

Like in Salt?
Yes! And then I’d like to just play a regular girl who, you know, is facing the world. Something really sentimental and organic, that girls all around the world can identify with. You know, how Jada Pinkett Smith did in Jason’s Lyric.

Classic film. You did mention earlier how everything has been time consuming. But when that time frees up, what kind of guy do you look for to be sentimental and organic with?
Um, I look for someone who is calm, someone who is strong enough to not have to win every argument, someone who allows a woman to be her crazy self and someone with a conscience not to feel less of a man. You know, someone who is able to honor his woman but also bring out the freak in his woman.

How should your Ken bring out the freak in you, Barbie?
Just being super aggressive when the time is right.

Are we talking about Mortal Kombat–style “Come here” aggression?
Just something that makes me feel like they’re in control, when we are behind closed doors.

Foxy Brown On Christmas Eve Absence

Foxy turned to her Twitter account explained why she was a no-show at a Christmas Eve party at Club Jelani in Brooklyn. It was was rumored that she was going to debut a Lil’ Kim diss record, “Christmas Eve Massacre”.

I hope everyone had a blessed & beautiful Christmas.. my favorite time of the year. Still grieving the loss of someone special & dear to me. I’d like to personally apologize for the confusion and venue changing of the beautiful “Christmas In Brooklyn” party. Although the confusion fell far beyond my control, my responsibility and concern is to my fans and family; my priority. As I always say…the Devil’s at his busiest when ur about to get busy. My baby sis Wanda Fox, FOX Boyz, Ferrari, GT Nick, Sha, Britney Fox, Team FOX and all my die hard FOX fans… from my heart, I luv yall. Pray for ur girl. Something bigger’s going on. But GOD got me covered in his blood.

DMX Moved To Mental Health Unit

After he violated his probation a couple weeks ago he was sentence to a year in prision. December 20, it was reported he was moved Flamenco Mental Health Unit at Alhambra.

At his sentencing, Judge Christine Mulleneaux told him she believes he has “an undiagnosed mental condition,” possibly bi-polar disorder. DMX’s manager, Nakia Walker, wouldn’t comment specifically on whether DMX might have a mental disorder, but she says she wasn’t surprised when he was moved to a mental-health unit. The rapper himself always has refused to comment on speculation about his mental state.

The Board Administration Tears It Down At The 9:30 Club

The Board Administration destroyed the stage at the 9:30 Club this past week and JukeBOX was on the scene. If you haven’t been to a show by this group (hell, if you haven’t at least been to a Wale show!), you’re sorely missing out. Check out some pics after the jump (and check out probably about 200+ more at our Facebook page).
