What was almost a given: that Jay-Z would top this list (with $63M). What I’m somewhat surprised about: the fact that Soulja Boy ($8M) made more than T-Pain ($6M). What sends an interesting message: the 3-headed monster (Dr. Dre, Eminem & 50 Cent) are all still making enough money to make the list despite not a whole lot of new music being produced….anyways, check out the list here.

Aside from the fact that I haven’t laughed harder in my life, he gives a VERY interesting (and highly agreeable) perspective on why the rappers that give you backpackers nightmares of being raped every night are even successful in the first place. Reading that made me look at the complete collection of 90s-early 00s “round-out-the-tank” tunes sitting in my CD library (those were the days, but that’s another story…).
