Lil’ Wayne Owes The IRS

From the Detroit News:

Cough syrup-chugging, law-skirting rapper Lil Wayne owes some serious cash money to the IRS, which filed a $1.13 million tax lien against the star last month, according to Florida court records.

It’s the second monster tax problem for Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter. The IRS filed a $977,840 lien against him two years ago, but the platinum-selling artist paid it off in August 2008.

And there’s more good news. Late last month, he satisfied a $146,000 civil judgment won by a jeweler who never got paid in full for selling the rapper an 18-carat necklace and a $138,000 platinum ring, according to this Dade County court record.

What’s owed:

• The IRS filed a $1,138,760 lien against Carter on June 3 in Dade County (Fla.) Circuit Court. According to the lien, which you can see here, he owes income taxes from 2004, 2005 and 2007. The address on the lien is the same office occupied by his One Family Foundation charity.

Call me crazy, but I’d bet whoever wrote this isn’t the biggest Lil’ Wayne fan…

Frances Bean Cobain Does Art

…and it’s every bit the personality of someone whose parents are Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. I’d love to hear her describe her interpretations of it…from 80’s Purple:
17 year-old Frances Bean Cobain has a gallery show called Scumfuck currently up at L.A.’s La Luz De Jesus Gallery. The show is under the pseudonym Fiddle Tim. It features portraits of both Jim Jones (the former cult leader/ not the crazy rapper) and GG Allin, among other dark haunting sort of beautiful stuff. It’s sort of fascinating. Not that one would expect any less from the offspring of Kurt Cobain and whathername. All of her art work that was for sale, logically, has been sold.
More pics after the jump.

Alicia Keys And Jeff Robinson Part Ways…Sort Of

From Alicia Keys’ publicist:

Jeff Robinson, CEO of MBK Entertainment Inc., and 12 time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys have decided to change the structure of their business relationship. Robinson and Keys will continue to collaborate and produce future albums together through MBK/J Records while Alicia will now oversee all aspects of her own personal career. MBK Entertainment Inc. has been the management firm for Alicia Keys since she was a teenager-guiding every facet of her career, including the international success of her Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum albums, films and branding opportunities. Keys and Robinson have been partners for over a decade and would like opportunities to pursue other endeavors. Their decision is mutually agreed upon and amicable.

“This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes. Keys’ company, AK Worldwide, will now have responsibility and oversight for Alicia’s touring, endorsements, sponsorships, licensing, new business development, television and film ventures. MBK, a multifaceted entertainment company with a film, television, publishing and independent marketing divisions, will have the opportunity to focus on developing the careers of new, young talented artists. The company will also delve deeper into the gospel music format with their newly formed Glory to Glory Records.”
