R.I.P. 5th Ward Butta

It’s been revealed that we’ve lost another D.C. talent in the game with 5th Ward Butta — the news was confirmed by his wife. In tribute, we’d like to reflect on previous drops while introducing his music to those not familiar. If anything, this all proves just how versatile he was when it came to hip hop. RIP.

Young E Class – “Hit The Plug” (Video)

Shot by Cold Wolf Visualz.

Young E Class steps into a melodic trap zone as he navigates us through Hitting The Plug. He raps in a tone unheard from him before but still bares every bit of rawness that comes with the passion he brings to tracks. He speaks on friends seeing you up and hating yet letting it be known that he’s not the one to play with. Lines like “Only time gonna tell, pray the boys don’t catch up” sneaky metaphors meaning no snitching going on only time do the telling. While on other bars he states “owe the plug like 100 racks, he’ll get it when he get it” still showcases hit brag bag. This visual is like a fly on the wall inside of a trap house. Where pick ups and drop offs are being made. Trap girls in the kitchen whipping and handling phone calls. While Young E Class orchestrate the plays. Looking like a modern day Young Jezzy. Yet another home run for Young E Class and the Mob Ish camp. – Written by Travis Bird for Rapcityinthecity
