After the death of Nelson Mandela, Kanye West logged onto his Twitter to address the rumor of him dishonoring the former South African president (in a recent interview, Kanye West said ‘I am Nelson Mandela”).

Respect to Mandela, his family and his legacy. Despite recent media reports, I’ve never said anything to dishonor or trivialize the life or transition of one of the most inspiring leaders. I’d like to address the false stories and noise that have been engineered by the media. At a young age my mother taught me the importance of his work. Mandela sacrificed his life for the betterment of mankind. Thank you, Mandela, for your life’s work and may it serve as a guiding light to illuminate our future.

U.S. Military Aircraft To Aid Central African Republic Mission

From CNN:

American military aircraft will begin flying African and European peacekeepers into the Central African Republic, which is in the midst of a bloody internal war between various proclaimed Christian and Muslim militias and other rebel factions, a U.S. official tells CNN.

Defense Department officials expect to announce the decision on Monday. The action is in response to a request from French and African Union peacekeepers.

Troops will be flown from Burundi to the Central African Republic capital of Bangui, which has been wracked with violence.

The American military also expects to fly in some French troops, which are working to secure the airport and disarm some militia members.

The United States will provide security for its planes, but there is no indication on the number of troops involved. The operations is expected to be relatively small.

Violence on the ground, which has included machetes, knives, rifles and grenades, will be a “big factor” in any U.S. operation, the official said.

“It’s a concern,” the official said.

The U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a resolution last week authorizing military intervention by an African Union-led force backed by French troops to protect civilians, restore humanitarian access and stabilize the country.

Mexican Teen Destroys Her Genitals After Repeatedly Injecting The Drug Krokodil Into Her Vagina

I’m not going to mess up your lunches, so if you care to know more of the Russian drug Krokodil, we posted on that here. From Huffington Post:

Public authorities in Mexico shared details of a gruesome case of the flesh-eating drug krokodil, the first to be officially reported in the state of Jalisco.

According to José Sotero Ruiz Hernández, an official with Mexico’s National Institute of Migration, a 17-year-old girl in Puerto Vallarta presented lacerations to her genitals that she said were caused by her addiction to krokodil.

“The young woman who used this drug had an infection that had rotted her genitals. It wasn’t sexually transmitted. She said she’d been using krokodil for the last two months,” Hernandez said, according to a Huffington Post translation of Mexican newspaper El Periodico Correo.

The woman told authorities that the drug was readily available on street corners. Hernandez added that the drug has also been reported in Mexico City.

Krokodil is a street drug with effects similar to heroin that is made by cooking crushed codeine pills with household chemicals. It is significantly cheaper than heroin, and reportedly ten times as potent. However, the impurities in the drug damage vascular tissue, which causes the flesh to rot.

Laurel Man Arrested in Drug Bust With 180 lbs. of Marijuana

Drug Bust

ABC News Reports:

A 30-year-old man is behind bars after police say they seized more than one half-million dollars worth of marijuana in a drug bust on Friday.

Laurel Police Department Drug Interdiction Task Force identified, what they are calling, suspicious activity in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express.

The hotel sits in the 14400 block of Laurel Place in Laurel.

The task force says it was a canine scan that led them to the drugs.

Victor Camarillo, a Nevada man, was detained by police for questioning.  Detectives say they sealed off a hotel room associated with Camarillo and impounded several vehicles.

An investigation and search, led police to 180-pounds of marijuana. Investigators believe the drugs had a street value of approximately $540,000.

Camarillo was later arrested and charged through the state of Maryland.

He is facing several offenses, including possession with intent to distribute and importing a controlled dangerous substance.

The Drug Enforcement Agency has been notified.
