Yale Police Probe Report of Gun On Campus
Yale University received a call from an anonymous caller, informing them that there was a Gunman lurking around campus.
Yale University asked people there to shelter in place late Monday morning because of reports of a person with a gun on the southern Connecticut campus.
The alert came as most of Yale’s schools were out on Thanksgiving recess.
The university issued its first alert at 10:17 a.m., saying that police in Yale’s city, New Haven, received an anonymous phone call reporting a person on campus with a gun.
Less than an hour later, the university said there was a “confirmed report of a person with a gun on/near Old Campus.”
“Teams from Yale Police, New Haven and the State Police are on the scene and are actively searching for any gunman,” the university said later on its website.

New Indictment Involving Baltimore City Jail Corruption
In April of this year we all heard about the corruption case involving Black Guerrilla Family’s leader, Tavon White, who allegedly fathered 5 kids with 4 prison guards, and was still running his operations in the streets, via those guards, while being jailed in Baltimore City Detention Center. Well, the situation has made a turn for the worst, a new indictment offers shocking details of the alleged corruption happening inside of the Baltimore City Detention Center.
CNN Reports:
A large group of Baltimore corrections officers and members of a notorious prison gang have been working together to peddle drugs, phones and sex inside the city’s jail, prosecutors say.
But an indictment released this week is another shot, prosecutors say, at putting an end to it.
The indictment, announcing charges on 14 more Baltimore corrections officers, reads like a script from the now defunct HBO crime drama “The Wire.”
But the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Maryland says this drama involving a prison gang, the Black Guerrilla Family, and a growing number of Baltimore jail guards has gone on for too long.
“Correctional officers were in bed with BGF inmates,” said U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein.
Rosenstein seemed to mean that both literally and figuratively, court documents show. According to one indictment, alleged gang member Tavon White had a sexual relationship with four jail guards while he was incarcerated.
Former guards accused of smuggling cell phones into Texas prison
He impregnated all four of them and they all helped him smuggle items into prison, according to the indictment.
One of the guards had “Tavon” tattooed on her wrist, the indictment said.
In January, White summed up his standing in the prison while talking on a cell phone that had been smuggled in, the indictment says
“This is my jail. You understand that? I’m dead serious. … I make every final call in this jail … and nothing go past me. … Any of my brothers that deal with anybody, it’s gonna come to me. Before (somebody) stab somebody, they gotta run it through me,” White said. according to the indictment.
Correctional officers were allegedly bribed to smuggle in drugs, cell phones and other prohibited objects, which they hid underneath their clothes, “inside body cavities,” even in sandwiches, the indictment said.
New Orleans jail video shows drugs, guns, filth
Some inmates who weren’t part of the gang had to pay protection money — or more accurately, their relatives on the outside did — authorities claim.
“Court documents allege the BGF members recruited correctional officers through personal and often sexual relationships, as well as bribes, and that some officers traded sex for money,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in its news release.
The end result was what Rosenstein’s office called a “criminal organization” operating inside jails “enabling (participants) to make large amounts of money through drug trafficking, robbery, assault, extortion, bribery, witness retaliation, money laundering and obstruction of justice.”
The investigation first came to light in April with the announcement of the first round of arrests. In all, 44 people have been indicted on federal charges. Twenty seven of them are Baltimore correctional officers, CNN affiliate WJZ reported.
Singer Wayne Mills Dies in Bar Shooting
Country singer Wayne Mills got into a heated argument this past weekend, with the owner of Nashville, TN bar called “Pit and Barrel”, which led to the death of the 44 year old “outlaw country” singer.
CNN Reports:
Singer Wayne Mills, whose “outlaw country” songs center on honky-tonk life, died in a Nashville bar shooting Saturday, police said.
Chris Ferrell, owner of Nashville’s Pit and Barrel bar, told police he shot Mills, 44, in self-defense, according to a Nashville police statement.
“Wayne Mills by definition is one that is a stiff-necked, country troubadour with an affinity for honky-tonks and possessing a style of rustic simplicity,” his official website said.
He’s an “average country boy steeped in the Southern vernacular of God, guns and football,” his official biography reads.
Investigators say Mills and Ferrell, 44, were in the closed bar with “a few friends and acquaintances” when the two men — who were friends — “began to argue and the others left.”
Police are investigating Ferrell’s claim that the shooting was justified by self-defense.
Mills, who leads the Wayne Mills Band, died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville hours after the shooting, according to band manager J.R. Smith
Smith told CNN that Mills suffered a bullet wound to his head.
“I hope justice is served,” Smith said.
Mills grew up in the north Alabama town of Arab, Smith said. He played baseball at Wallace State Junior College and football at the University of Alabama, where he earned an education degree, before becoming a professional musician.
Mills had been working on his seventh album, “Long Hard Road,” and touring small Southern venues.
His next gig had been scheduled for Saturday night at Granddaddy’s Lounge in Ramer, Alabama.
Superintendent Indicted in 16 Year Old Girl Rape Case
A Grand Jury investigating the 2012 rape of a 16 year old girl in Steubenville, Ohio, has indicted the school superintendent and 3 others in the case.
CNN Reports:
The Ohio attorney general’s office could say Monday whether more charges will be filed in connection with a 2012 rape of a 16-year-old girl that made national headlines.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will announce “new developments” in a grand jury’s investigation into whether other crimes were committed in the case that rocked the small eastern Ohio community of Steubenville, his office said. A news conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET Monday in Steubenville.
In March, Steubenville High School football players Ma’lik Richmond and Trenton Mays were convicted of the rape, which authorities said took place at a party in August 2012. Photos and videos of the incident made their way onto social media and attracted national attention.
A grand jury then began probing whether others should be charged. In October, it indicted William Rhinaman, 53, the director of technology for Steubenville City Schools, on charges of tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, obstructing official business and perjury.
Richmond was sentenced to a minimum of one year in a juvenile correctional facility. Mays got two years.
If convicted, Rhinaman could be sentenced to four years in prison, which is longer than the two teens convicted of rape will serve.

Electric Mantis – Flips And Flops, Drips And Drops

Portland-based artist Electric Mantis has been an overnight sensation after Djemba Djemba reposted some of his music on Soundcloud and he then took to Reddit to announce his amazement, eventually making the front page and getting around 200,000 plays. What makes “Flips And Flops” so great is its wonky up-beat melodies combined with some 808-style drums, reverb and a Dubstep-style make up (Mantis comes from a Dubstep/DnB background). Expect to hear more from the 20-year old producer soon.

Grizzly Bear – Will Calls (Diplo Remix)

I can’t say that I’m a huge Grizzly Bear fan or a huge Diplo fan but this remix is appealing. The song seamlessly melds a demo from a “failed” Texas studio session by the band with Diplo’s bass-heavy club sound nicely. Also this is the first time I’ve heard an “EDM” drop that hasn’t dissapointed me in months.
PeeWee LongWay – Crack
