It wasn’t even going after New York. It wasn’t a diss record. It really wasn’t. “New York, New York” was a record that we made in dedication to New York. We really felt that New York created hip-hop. New York created battle rap and the whole ball of wax so what I did was a battle rap on this beat DJ Pooh did. That beat originally, DJ Pooh made it for Biggie Smalls for a St. Ides commercial.
It really got blown out of proportion through the media. It also got blew out of proportion by a lot of people from New York because we wasn’t dissing New York. Before we were knocking down buildings, Do you remember the beginning part of the video when we were in New York in the snow and having fun? That’s the original video. We wanted Nas and everybody from New York to be in the video. It was a dedication to New York but then, we got shot at it while we were shooting it.
New York felt we were disrespecting them. [Laughs] The New Yorkers wasn’t going for it. They was like “Oh, no! You ain’t gonna shoot this shit out here dissing us.” They shot at us the next day so I mean, after they shot at us. We went back home and Snoop was like, “Man, fuck that!” Then we shot the other part of the video where we started kicking everything the fuck over. That’s why we started kicking things over because we got shot at it. [Laughs]

Ghostface Killah Will Reportedly Appear On VH1’s ‘Couples Therapy’

Ghostface Killah is the latest rapper to join a season of VH1’s reality series, Couples Therapy.
According to AllHipHop.com, the Staten Island, NY-born MC has signed on for the fourth installment of the Celebrity Rehab spin-off and will be joined by his “significant other,” Kelsey Nykole.
Ghost, Nykole and other celebrities like actress Whitney Mixture of The L Word and former reality stars John Goselin (Jon & Kate Plus 8), Taylor Armstrong (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) and Farrah Armstrong (16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom), will go through “group and individual therapy.”
The series will also include “relationship exercises out in the ‘real world’ to see if they can rekindle the love they used to have for one another — or if it’s simply time for them to move on,” the cable network said in a statement.
Appearing on the show isn’t Tony Stark’s first foray into reality TV. The Wu-Tang Clan MC, born Dennis Coles, made a cameo on an episode of VH1’s Mob Wives in 2011.

“They really have a great relationship now as parents,” a source tells Us Weekly of the “Monster” rapper, 41, and Kim, 38; along with their daughter Hailie, 17, Eminem is raising Mathers’ niece Alaina, and Whitney, her other daughter from another relationship.
“They aren’t back together yet — per se — but anything could happen and they are together all the time for the sake of the kids,” the source adds. Kim’s mother Kathy Sluck told RadarOnline earlier this week that her daughter and former son-in-law “might [get back together soon], they get on better than ever.”
