Will Dzombak (Taylor Gang) – OnSmash Interview

In a recent to trip to Los Angeles, OnSMASH caught up with the man behind a lot of moves from the Taylor Gang camp, Will Dzombak. We met Will at Paramount Studios in Hollywood to chop up game and find out what’s going on with TGOD.

Will explained to us how he got his start with Wiz back in college at Penn State, helping the homie get off the ground and do shows. From there, things started taking off so much that Wiz Khalifa landed his first record deal, and Will remembers having the time of his life at that point. Through his journey, there have been many ups and downs, but the support from his team is what keeps him going. It’s all family at Taylor Gang.

He mentions how mind-blowing it is for him to book a U.S. Tour for Chevy Woods, Berner and Tuki Carter (Good Stock Tour), and how far he’s come since getting Wiz to perform at Penn State. Now he runs the daily operations for TGOD, managing acts like Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Berner, Courtney Noelle, Tuki Carter, Quay Meanz, Sledgren. Just wait until they expand into clothing and athlete management.

De La Soul – Hard Knock TV Interview (Part 3)

Part 3 of our interview with De La starts with Pos sharing that he first wanted to be a DJ before an MC because back then the DJ was the life of the party and the MC was just doing echoes. As the interview goes on, Dave says that he enjoys some Gangsta Rap like NWA but that when Gangsta Rap started talking over Hip Hop culture De La never felt pressured to follow in the footsteps. Pos continued saying that De La always fit in to a few different facets of the culture and that they could tour with LL Cool J and RunDMC and then go do a Fine Young Cannibals tour. Dave goes on to say that some of their most memorable song experiences were corroborating with different artists from the Beastie Boys, The Gorillaz, Chaka Khan to Teenage Fan Club to so many others. Before we let De La go we asked them that having seen what Tribe Called Quest went through with their documentary, would De La be open to doing a documentary themselves. You are going to have to watch the interview to hear what they had to say on this topic!

We also get some very tense moments as Just Blaze finally airs out why he didn’t eff with Dame. Ya’ll truly ain’t ready for this dynasty thing.

Rocko Speaks On Removing Rick Ross From ‘U.O.E.N.O.’; Upcoming Remix

Rocko spoke with Ebro & K Foxx on what he has to do with his latest record due to the rape lyric controversy:

“Because of the type of traction that the record has as far as radio, it puts me in a position where I have to change it.

At the present moment, I have like six different verses from all types of different, talented artists, some multi-platinum. Some might have even have bigger accomplishments like Grammys and things of that nature.”

In addition to that, Rocko apparently has a well-suited replacements for the upcoming remix (which I hope we hear soon)….courtesy of a few artist’s Twitter accounts, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar & Trae are just a few of the rumoured collaborators….
