Trey Songz Announces Next Album Title

Trey Songz sits down with Glamazons and speaks on the title of his fifth album, Chapter 5. No word on when it will drop. Check out except from the interview below
GJ: What can we expect from you in the future? You’ve done music, fashion, fragrances, what’s next? TS: Whatever God has planned for me. It’s all about hard work and determination. Every year has been better than my last and every album [has done] better than my last. I’m embarking on new endeavors every chance I get. I just did Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D coming out next year. I’m working on a new album entitled Chapter 5. Music will always be my first love. I’m going to South Africa and I’m elated about it. I’m taking my mother and family. That trip will be very instrumental in what this next album will be.

Big Sean Interview with HHC & Tim Westwood

While over in the UK, Big sean sat down with HHC and Tim Westwood to talk about several topics. Big Sean spoke on what track he finished first and last for the “Finally Famous” album. Sean reveals that the lyrics to “Marvin & Chardonnay” were written while he and Kanye were on the phone together. “My Last” was a song that the rapper did not want to put out but was convinced by No I.D. The single first had Sean singing it, not Chris Brown. He also spoke on a new mixtape in the works, being compared to Drake and after the jump a possible slot on Watch the Throne Tour.

MC Breed Sues Jon Connor Over Remake; Jon Connor Responds

Response (and freestyle) above….original news story of the lawsuit is below, courtesy of Hip Hop Blog.

The widow of late rapper MC Breed is suing young Flint emcee Jon Connor over a tribute track that samples Breed’s 1991 classic “Ain’t No Future in Your Frontin’.” MC Breed was the first rapper from Flint to gain national attention, but once Breed’s widow, Natasha, saw it was being sold on iTunes without having given her approval, she filed suit.

“It’s kind of ironic because the title of their song is ‘No Frontin’ and I need them cats to do just that, stop frontin’,” she said. “’Jon Connor who?’ I seen the whole campaign, I know who’s sponsoring the whole project, I know who’s behind him. I show Flint town love and everybody that knows me knows that I’m about straight up loyalty.”

. “Immediately when I heard it, I did not approve for several reasons. Here you have a song that’s a 24-year-old classic hit. This song paved the way for the Midwest, period. Put Flint on the map, Michigan on the map, opened up the gates for everybody on that end of the map,” she continued. “You just can’t take and say whatever you want to do with anybody’s material, number one. Some stuff that can’t be touched.”

Inside The BOX.: Jon Connor

Soooo this interview was done quite a while ago…..unfortunately, we never managed to find a copy editor to transcribe the entire interview, so, because it was such a good one (and with an extremely dope artist at that), we basically decided that the audio was good enough to enjoy. So enjoy.
We chatted it up with Flint, Michigan emcee Jon Connor about his entrance into the scene, influences, plans for takeover and more. Don’t expect this guy to get terminated (I’m sorry, I had to) anytime soon. After listening to the interview, check out more from this artist:
