Elzhi – XXL Interview

Well, T3 gave his not-as-direct-as-we’d-like interview (before it was interuppted by Phat Katt, which brought more light to it). Well it appears in a XXL interview, Elzhi brings us closer to the truth. Read an excerpt below:
Let’s cut right to the chase; are you in Slum Village now or not?
Elzhi: Am I in Slum Village or am I not? As far as what’s going on… As far as, like, me not having any say so to any treatments to videos being shot, or me not going to do the interviews to promote this new Slum Village album, or [Barack Records and T3] not contacting me or my management, and… as you can see in the “Reunion 2†video, I would say I wasn’t in the group. And at the same time, them taking me off records, so now I’m on a minimal amount a records for the [Villa Manifesto] album, I would say I wasn’t in the group.
I’m just waiting for the full out conversation to bring some closure to this issue.
Janelle Monae Speaks On Bilal
Bilal’s strategy to sell an album: have random respected but not quite commercial artists promote you and your music. Yea, I don’t think that’s gonna work, either. Where are some concert dates, dude?

Foxy Brown Give Nicki Minaj Props
Didn’t expect this. Now all we need is Lil’ Kim…
Aliya S. King – Angela Yee Interview
Another clip and a breakdown on Aliya S. King after the jump.
From TeamYeeTV:
Author Aliya S King came by “The Morning After†and gave us some juicy behind-the-scenes stories from the journalism world. If you don’t know who she is, she’s the woman who co-authored Faith Evan’s “Keep the Faith†and Frank Lucas’ memoirs “Original Gangster,†and is working on Tashera Simmons’ book, as well as Timbaland’s memoirs. In addition, she has a proposal out to Mashonda so maybe you’ll be reading that whole saga soon!
Right now though, Aliya has her fictional novel “Platinum†in stores, with the sequel already scheduled to drop August 11, 2011. “Platinum†was an idea she came up with after writing an article for Vibe Magazine entitled “The Secret Lives of Rappers Wives,†where she researched and interviewed the wives of rappers, including Ja Rule, Wyclef, Snoop, and DMX. You have to read this book and see if you can figure out who the characters are based on!
Aliya discusses how difficult it was to work with Frank Lucas and how much she loves Faith Evans. She talks about a situation with Eve when she first started at The Source 10 years ago where they almost had an altercation and had to be held back from each other.
Aliya also gave some insight into what DMX’s wife, Tashera’s book will be about. Apparently he has several kids outside of his marriage and currently has a 1 and 2 year old in Miami.
GunPlay Talks About…Snorting Coke
Yea. Even disses Slick ‘Em. This is also the same interview where he speaks on a positive alternative to B.M.F. I need to get rich.
Drake – Nardwuar Interview
With a 40 appearance. Google Nardwuar (I even have a search bar at the top of the page for you), his interviews are usually pretty interesting, to say the least.
Bunb B Speaks On 2Pac & Pimp C Track
Trill OG might be his best album yet (although his previous two will be difficult to top)…
50 Cent On The View
To follow a Rick Ross interview with this was not on purpose. Not that it makes any difference.
Rick Ross – Old Xper1ence.com Interview
I think this is 2006…does anyone remember this? The shots at T.I.? The random gun entering the interview? Certainly makes you think about the past and the present, doesn’t it?
Charles Hamilton Calls From Mental Institution

This is getting more bizarre…we already mentioned that he was in the crazy house, Charles Hamilton called up Tony Touch during his Shade 45 show, live from Long Beach Medical Center (he apparently has since moved from New York Presbyterian. I hope he gets it all together.
Gunplay – AllHipHop Interview
Not really an actual interview, he is just asked what alternatives could be made for ‘BMF’ as far as kids and Black leaders are concerned.
T3 vs. PHAT KATT

This, to me, is everything but the final pin in the coffin. What an end to a legacy. Illseed has some interesting things to say about the beef as well:
LMAO! I find this quite humorous and sad at the same time. These dudes, if anybody, should find a way to stick together. Dilla and Baatin are probably rolling over right now! Nevertheless, support the album, because right now…we do this for Ma Dukes, who is Dilla’s mom! YO! This is what’s happening. Villa Manifesto is the new album from Slum, but something shady apparently happened. Seems like T-3 gave Elzhi the boot. I heard hexmurda and T-3 were twitter battling a while back, but they are both from Detroit! Anyway, uhh……this was announced earlier this year, but as I read up, I see this has been going on for a while. Hex, who is Elzhi’s manager, already announced that part. I guess from there, they took dude off the album and now its on! Illa J is in the group now and they are taking lil shot at each other via Twitter. Pause.
