Wayne Brady Stops By ‘Sway In The Morning’; Talks BET Honors

BET Honors host, Wayne Brady made an appearance on Sway in the Morning to discuss the five people who will be recognized at BET Honors. The CEO of American Express, a photographer, Berry Gordy, Ice Cube, and Aretha Franklin were all honored at the 7th Anniversary of awards show. Brady spoke a lot about the state of music and how Motown’s mission to polish artists has been lost through this digital stage of music. Wayne also took calls from listeners and spoke about how people perceive his ‘Blackness.’

Styles P & ScHoolBoy Q On The FRANK Show (Video)

Not entirely sure what the first two parts consisted of, but Part 3 of FRANK151‘s series showcases the health-conscious Styles P. and the not-so-health-conscious ScHoolboy Q (whose album Oxymoron drops tomorrow):

For part tres of The FRANK Show, we decided to venture off onto the health route, discussing everything from juices to exercise in order to help you make that beach body your year-round body. Though, instead of asking personal trainers and health nuts, FRANK spoke to the likes of streetwear entrepreneurs like Kevin Poon and Bobby Hundreds to artists Kevin Lyons and Stash. Afterwards, we hopped on the 6 train and headed up to the Boogie Down to speak with Styles P on his juice bar.

In addition, we also had the privilege of attending ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron listening party and discussed hoops with Sir Funky Uncle, Ricky Powell.

Though the city is damped with troublesome headlines about its violent crimes and gang war, the city of Chicago continues to be a hotbed for new, rising hip-hop talent. Raising up from out of the Chi’s turmoil is rapper Lil Bibby, whose become a one of the city’s hottest act almost overnight thanks to his Free Crack mixtape. It also helped that he received a timely cosign from none other than Drake.

The 19-year-old Chiraq native sat with REVOLT recently to discuss a number of things, including his fondness for New York (“New York show a lot of love,” he explained), learning to accept doing interviews, and how traveling has affected his rhymes (“I try to let y’all in on the details of what’s going on”).

ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming album Oxymoron is all set to drop next week (February 25th), and the TDE/Interscope artist is putting in time on the promo circuit. Above, Q sits down with New York’s The Breakfast Club to speak an apparently TDE documentary, 50 Cent not making the album (as was planned), Kendrick Lamar and more.
