Kanye West: My Rap Career Is Just As Dangerous As Being A Police Officer

From TMZ:

First Tom Cruise, now Kanye West is comparing his profession to BEING AT WAR … saying just like soldiers and cops, HE PUTS HIS LIFE ON THE LINE when he goes to work.

Yeezus made the statements to Saturday Night Online this weekend, saying rapping is very dangerous work — “This is like being a police officer or something … or like war or something.”

“You’re literally going out to do your job every day knowing that something could happen to you.”

But Kanye says it’s not JUST the physical risks (he says he could slip on the stage) … KW also risks getting his feelings hurt — because people could watch a show and decide they don’t like him.

Yeah, just like a cop or a soldier.

VIDEO: Nelson Mandela’s First TV interview In 1961

In 1961 ITN reporter Brian Widlake met Nelson Mandela, while he was in hiding, to conduct the former president’s first ever TV interview. The 42-year-old was on the run from the police at the time, and Widlake had to pull some strings to arrange to meet him in his hideout, with the interview part of a longer ITN Roving Report programme about apartheid.

The following year Mandela was arrested on allegations of sabotage and other charges and sentenced to life in prison, where he spent 27 years before finally being freed.

West also offered some brief insight into his next album project during the talk. “I think my next album is going to be eight songs,” West said. “It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need. People say a design is the point where you can’t take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here. If I hadn’t made Yeezus, I wouldn’t be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here.”
