Fresh Porter – ‘OMDN’ (Stream)

Virginia native Fresh Porter has been making waves nationwide. Porter, who was only released from prison just a year ago, already has two projects under his belt and a number of notable co-signs.

His latest full-length release, OMDN, features Virginia Pusha T, and Trey Songz, as well as Kahri 1k, Young Crazy and 1017’s Pooh Shiesty. Produced by Yung Lan, Emkay, SayZay and Mow, OMDN is raw, catchy, high-energy music from the heart.

Porter’s project has been a long time coming. He grew up in the notorious city of Petersburg, half an hour south of Richmond. Moving fully into the streets after the passing of his grandmother in his youth, Fresh was indicted in 2016 on drug charges and incarcerated. Porter came home in 2020 to a different world. He explains the process of making OMDN and what the title means below.

OMDN is a acronym for on my dead niggas, which is slang in Petersburg verbatim to the phrase On God; we usually reference our dead homeboys to show sincerity and honesty. The concept for the album came about while I was serving my 4 year sentence in prison. During my bid, I lost three close friends and wanted to do something to honor them. That’s why you see their faces on the cover instead of mine. OMDN also introduces our culture to the world through my music.”

Stream OMDN below via Audiomack, or catch it on your favorite DSP. This isn’t the last that we’ll hear from Fresh Porter.

Goo Glizzy Feat. NBA Youngboy – “My Life” (Video)

Goo Glizzy’s roots in DC are deep. If you’ve been listening to rap music from the District in the past decade, you’ve heard the Uptown rapper. Despite trials and tribulations, Goo has continued to rise and release new music. Pressure makes diamonds, and “My Life”, his latest, is a perfect example off that. The song/video, featuring NBA Youngboy, comes after a long rapport with the Baton Rouge star. Documenting the struggle, Goo and Youngboy trade verses over a JayJuwle beat. They linked up in New York for the video, directed By Aesthetic Visuals, Check out “My Life” now.

Oddisee – “No Trouble”

Via Mello Music Group:

Oddisee’s newest, No Trouble, comes as the second single off the upcoming Mello Music Group label album Bushido. The track finds Oddisee coasting through his hustle, making the usual grind feel like an effortless glide. The consummate professional, the DMV’s greatest, Oddisee, exemplifies the Bushido album, turning the expected on its head. The battle worthy cut eschews the hard nosed and instead walks on mello, airy, jazz lounge production while making it clear who the chief is: “I’m a whole vibe, I’m a whole Tribe.”

Let the lyrics speak for themselves:
“Good vibes stay near, bad vibes stay clear, iont want no trouble, Ijust hustle keepin it on the low… You can try, I don’t care, Iont hide or live in fear, Ima get mine any way any how that I know…”

Listen to No Trouble everywhere today; Bushido is out April 2nd.
