Kendrick Lamar – To Pimp a Butterfly (Album Stream)
Just days after the song “Kunta Kinte” was leaked, Interscope released Kendrick Lamar’s new album To Pimp a Butterfly a week early (on iTunes and Spotify) much to the surprise and dismay of Lamar’s label TDE. Dew Baby, Fat Trel & Wale – Loyalty (Video)
Just weeks before The Album About Nothing is released, Wale, Dew Baby and Fat Trel show out in Marc Fernandez-directed video for “Loyalty.” The three EBM rappers walk around Harlem with Lil Durk, Noreage and others. My one question is, although this is a Band Kamp beat, why does this song have to sound like its from Chicago and not DC to get popular? Just a thought. You can pre-order The Album About Nothing on iTunes now.

B-Rackz – No Case (Prod By Beat Zombie)
Teenage producer-turned-rapper B-Rackz has been making noise down in Atlanta for about a year now, grabbing placements on projects from Rocko, Soulja Boy and more. We’ve been paying attention. B-Rackz is part of a new generation of producers making Trap that sounds different than the typical Zaytoven/808 Mafia copycats. Along with people like Judo, Yung Coke, Deezy, Kash Nova and others, there is a new sound coming out of the South. B-Rackz and another talented new producer, Beat Zombie (a favorite for DC-area rappers) collaborate on “No Case”, with Rackz trying his hand at rapping. His simple, staccato bars aren’t groundbreaking but they are catchy and precise, making “No Case” worthy of many repeat listens.
